I searched the Internet and found nothing on this subject so through trial and error I got the front and back covers off. Its a rather tricky job because even though you have all the screws out the tabs that click the front and back cover together make it feel that you have missed some screw somewhere. Put your screws in a container and take photos so you know where everything goes if you want to.
Please remember safety first and unplug the sewing machine before you do any work on it.
Above the four arrows point to the four screws at the bottom of the sewing machine that you take out.
An old trick that manufacturers would use to stop people opening the covers was to put screws under the little circle rubber feet, but not in this case.
In Image 2 the arrows point to the screws that should be removed.
I take off the thread guide (Arrow 1) because it is in the way and may get broken.
Once all the screws are out the hardest part is removing the cover.
You can remove the knobs at this point.
I put a Flat-End Screwdriver in the crack at the points where the Tabs are and pushed
down until they clicked out of place and became separated, then I put the screwdriver
between both the front and back cover and gently twisted the screwdriver until the
two covers parted.
I pulled off the front cover first, then the back.
The first time
I took the covers off they didn’t come off willingly at all and it was a bit of a
struggle, and then all of a sudden they come off with a bit of a start. So do be
prepared for that sudden departure of the covers from the main body.
Putting it all on is a reversal of what you have done.
Please remember to pout the Reverse Stitch Slider back on, I forgot the first time and had to take the cover off and put it in. Also be wary of anything else coming off. Take your time, be careful and aware of what you are doing and you will do fine.
All the best from
