A Way to Raise Your Sunken Garden Edging

Image 1

Many of us don’t lay stones and such down under wood edging, we just make a groove in the dirt and put a post in by laying it sideways.

As time goes by this wood sinks into the dirt as we can see in Image 1.

My seedlings were suffering under the sunlight so i wanted to lay a pallet across the garden to keep the sunlight to a minimum so the plants would not wilt too much as they were only planted yesterday.

It is obvious from Image 1 that the post has sunk well into the dirt.

I have been doing a lot of tree trimming and branch cutting and have a lot of firewood and branches from this work.

So I found some suitable branches as is shown in Image 2 by the Yellow Arrows.

The Black Arrows point to the pegs that will hold the posts on top of the branches.

Image 3 shows the wooden post back in its original place raised above the surface of the grass edge.

You can also use stones, sand and so forth, many people do that as well.

This is just my quick fix so that I can now lay a board or wooden pallet across the two raised edges to give the seedlings some shade from the sun.
