Being Labeled

We are all humans, all capable of mistakes, all fallible, yet intelligent.
A social structure that is so random, toxic, fallible and dysfunctional as we have today often breeds insecure adults, and in this comes insecure and often immature thinking in emotional unbalanced minds.

An adult who is struggle with confidence, anxiety and self worth being told that they have this or that mental condition, thus being labeled as some illness/issue/problem or whatever, the unprepared immature mind accepts such information with devastating consequences. What I means is, is that they accept and fully believe a persons diagnosis and opinions.

Being labelled by an “expert” can negatively affect our self-esteem and hold us back. In our minds all through our lives we are mentally trained to accept their calls for our lives, mental and physical health, so when they label the poor unsuspecting soul the soul just accepts without argument the label and then gives in, often believing that there is no hope of ever really recovering from their newly found dismal position. What hope does a soul have if the mind has given in.

After the label is accepted then also must the medication and opinions of the “experts” in the poor suffering souls desperate desire to be free of their mental suffering.
The victim of this process gives in and lets the “professionals” guide and medicate the suffering-soul until he or she somehow resembles a confident person, only to mostly spend the rest of their lives on and off medication, or on medication for all their life, and be a victim of the system never recovering.

Knowing that in this world we have titled, rich, educated, people who’s lives are not in order and who have many issues and problems, to accept their judgments and labels is to accept defeat and submit to whatever drugs and mental torture that they put you through.

More and more people today are talking of psychiatry, therapists and mind doctors, to be a thing of the past due to the horrific lack of results and the horrific mistakes that they have in their short-history.

Being labelled by a system that has proven beyond doubt that it is a failure (measured by the fact that millions if not billions of people are labelled and on mental illness drugs and the amount of constantly rising with little relief for the sufferers) and accepting their diagnosis is self acceptance of an illness you probably don’t have. The medication just makes matters worse and builds the mental struggles more until more and more medication is shoved into you or you are locked up, when in reality you were simply struggling to survive in a dysfunctional toxic world.

The medication does not help, it just amplifies the problems and when the “experts” cannot come up with a reason they just prescribe more medications which continually accelerate the so-called mental issues further.

What qualifies me for these statements?

Well, back in 2004 I my ex-wife had left and I was struggling mentally in many ways.

About 4 years of hard out trials and changes I came across a magazine which in a two page spread listen the symptoms of Chronic Depression and Schizophrenia and I went through the lists in stunned silence.

Everything listed except a few things were what I was only a few years earlier and clearly from what I read I should have been admitted into mental health care with more than a few label and on medication.
But because I was deeply depressed I felt, as many had told me often, and I do mean often, that the reason I was like this was because I was simply a complete hopeless useless failure, who never got anything right and will always be a failure. In 2004 with this attitude it did not even come to mind that I should see a mental health “professional”, I just felt that all the suffering I was doing was because I was stupid, useless and incompetent.

Suicidal thoughts in my mind were simply me hating the fact that I was alive, hating what I felt was a joint-world-opinion of how hopeless I was and I just wanted to “turn out the light”.
Chronic Depression was the darkness of self acceptance that I was a failure, I have no idea that this was dark depression until I saw that list.
Schizophrenia was just something I was going through. Honestly, I was just so heavily “down” in my mind that I could have thought anything, except anything violent.

The only violence I wanted to do to anyone was to myself, not to anyone else.

If a titled person had told me that i was all of these things I doubt I would have accepted their diagnosis for long, but possibly if I had taken the medication they would have “got me” and possibly I would never have ever recovered.

So you see, if I had been labelled I would have been doomed for many, many years. And yes, it did take years to get through all of this, but it was done with no medication, no one helping me, no therapy, and thankfully no one labelled me and tried to brainwash me into believing that I had mental issues according to their system.

My advice is, if they label you, challenge that label with all your heart. Find someone who loves you and you will have their support, especially if they are strong willed, experienced in this and they will refuse to let the mental health people get to you.
Challenge the labels, read, study, and find other ways to get better.

All the best from
James M Sandbrook.
