Choosing Peace of Mind

At various times in my life I could have chosen other things but instead chose Peace of Mind. The reason is that I have found out that life is much more enjoyable even with very little than to have much and be miserable.

When I was at Kinlieth, I had done 11 years, and redundancies came up and I took mine. After I left a person who was a work mate told me that i would come running back to Kinlieth begging for a job.
I looked at him and wondered what he was on about.

He explained that the money and the people were the reason why. But the reason why I left was the people. There were many people I liked out there, but there were some screwballs and more than many Narcissistic people who thought that they were some sort of gods pushing people around and bullying them.

I was so happy to leave that it never occurred to me that i would ever go back, and I never did.

I once worked for a real Narcissist bully, and he would jump at the chance to call me names, be nasty and so on, and i was slow to anger, and suffered for the money, but in the end very happily left, and he said to other people that i would go back begging for my job back, but I never did, because I chose peace of mind.

When I was a teenager I read a lot, and I read of many men who became caretakers, people of low wages, and they were very very happy people, and it taught me that money or even poverty were not the worst things in the world and I would even rather starve than be working where I hated to work, or in relationships that were pointless and narcissistic.

Many places I liked to work, the job was great, but a bully made it unbearable.

If you want mental peace you need to understand that there are large amounts of conformers and very few people who actually stop and think about life, most people are like dead fish floating down the stream. Please, don’t be like them. Be a thinker.

Conformers don’t create intelligent conversation, they just do what others do and accept that their life is what society made it.

Thinkers can be wealthy or poor, and be happy with either, because it is not what they have that is important, it is the affect that they have on the world that they have that makes them feel good, and the questions that they are are interesting, and the discoveries that they make are helpful, and these people in the right environments are useful, and needed.

There will be many times in a persons life where he or she will be in a working environment that is not stable or healthy, or in a relationship that is not healthy for this person, or in a family or friend environment that is not meeting his or her needs and could even be narcissistic and manipulative, to be happy one needs to recognise the environment and people are not good for this person, also asking oneself, what is really the reason why this person has put up with such a situation and for so long, and then having that courage to walk away.

Wisdom is putting your inner peace and personal health above what is holding you in that situation, because you can never be as good as you can be while being held down by people or a situation, and you can never be free if your health and needs are not being met, and you must be able to always say what you need to say, learn what you need to learn, and be the soul that you want to be.

Be brave, because your inner-child needs your adult-soul to help and defend it.
