One of the great confusions of following God is knowing what God wants of us. It can take years to realize that we have been heading on the wrong path than what God wants us to travel because we have been following the crowd, or family who don’t know God as we do.

I had one issue a few years back and I wasn’t sure what God wanted me to do about it. I was emotionally and physically caught between two places – I didn’t know which way to turn. And it took me about 3 years to finally realize what God wanted of me. I admit I was listening to the wrong advisers, and I had an opinion/attitude that was based on my past experiences and past thinking and that was helping to guide me wrong.
I had finally realized what was wrong – evidence became clear and I was a mature enough Christian to understand more of what God wanted of me. I discovered that my walk with God was not between my parents, family or friends and me – my walk with God was simply between God and I. I realized that I must listen to only God and not any other influences.

If we give up early in our walk with Christ then we will never get to that mature state of mind and we will never feel more confident about following God. So do keep trying and feel confident that the day will come when you will see doors opened that you once thought were permanently closed to you. And you will make discoveries that other people said are impossible. Your eyes will be opened to more and more and right and wrong become clearer and our view of people will change as we become more accustomed to God’s way of doing things and we become more familiar with love and what it really means and we start to long for true love.

It doesn’t mean that we are stupid when we realize that we have been on the wrong track all along, it simply means that we had to clear our minds of old thinking, we had to break away from the crowds-thinking, we had to break away from what the world accepts today, and family and friends possibly guided us wrong because of their own feelings on the matters be they selfish or not etc. What we had to do “to understand God is to Break-Away from the world” to become more spiritual like Christ and then things become more clearer. All things become new…

It takes us time to break away from our old world to learn what God is trying to teach us so that we can then follow His ways to a different future with a totally different Belief-System.
We all stumble and fall and Jesus gives us hope. His walk is our example. Never put yourself down or get angry at yourself because you were messed up mentally and couldn’t figure out what god was trying to teach you. God ids patient and he knows that you will get it in time “if you stick to following God through the good and bad times”

Where God leads us is our destiny.
