The mother would be the center of the flower, the part that holds the pollen and the father the stem or trunk that holds up the family in strength and protects them all, the children would be the precious colourful petals that would one day depart from the family unit and go on their own ways to raise their own families as their parents had taught them.
Now the father holds up the family. If his place was taken away the flower would be laying on the ground, not able to swing with the harsh winds and the family cannot point in the direction of the sunshine easily (good times and love), and the family without the fathers stern loving protection is left to be stood on or worse. A weak father is not much use as he struggles to make the right decisions or choose well for his family. He should have the strength to stand alone on his moral beliefs under all forms of pressure from people, man’s laws, peers, and unmoral evil attack. He should be one with his wife and she one with him. Together, forever, always! And protect his children because he cares and loves them.
A mother, the center of the flower, is in a very important place. She is in the center of all things, between the father and children, and in the middle of the family unit. Here inner-strength shows in the strength and love of the family. The mother is so very important, a position of great power in the family unit. She is also in an amazing position where she can selfishly abuse everyone’s love and destroy the family, or she can create deep love among all the family members and gain great respect for her sacrifices and care. She can be the glue that holds the family together or the weakness that pulls it apart. As a good woman she is the golden thread that holds the family together in decent joyful love. She would never think of abusing her relationship with her children in any way for her own personal gain.
The father and mother are very important in the family unit. And as shown in this family flower example the family unit cannot operate efficiently without a good mother and father. Without the father and mother the petals fall everywhere, and anywhere and go with any turn of the wind because they know not where to go, or what is right or wrong. They need the fathers watchful care and strength and the mothers tender love and moral guidance.
If you are single you need to consider who you would marry and what you want to be in your marriage. Many woman today are trying to be the stem and the inner-part of the flower. Some men are so weak that they cannot even hold the family up in times of need. We need to consider who we are and what we want in the future. We are all designed to be courageous with God.
The family unit is precious and will grow well if tended by the father and mother unselfishly. Some of us come from single parent families and some of us had to bring up our children on our own and to these people I am thankful that they tried to do their best and I am sure that as long as they tried honestly then God would be very pleased with them and their efforts even without the other parent.
