When society is based on atheism it is based on material gain, love takes a distant back seat.
It its obvious when we see the selfish rich, the poverty, the hunger for money (“If I would only win Lotto then it would solve all my problems”), the wars for material gain etc.
The few who have a genuine good heart struggle to find genuine friends. And that is because the majority of people are running their lives from their minds and not from their hearts.
The person with the genuine love for others must be very careful in an Atheist thinking society. Because people seem genuine at first, but later on we find out about the bad things that they did and if we were still that person’s friend then that would have badly affected our own lives.
A happy person does not necessarily mean that the person is true and honest.
A listening ear does not mean a friend, that person could be listening to gather information for gossip.
A person to smoke with, do drugs with, drink alcohol does not mean a friend. All it means is that you have something in common with that person, that it all.
Atheist can be very nice people. But because they don’t have the moral standards, they don’t believe in decency, they don’t make good close friends.
What I mean by that is that they don’t make good friends that you can tell your inner most secrets too.
Apathy is a part of atheism. Look around you at the western world. The rich get rich, the poor don’t get helped, and poverty is very real and widespread. Note that poverty is very strong in rich cities. Money is all around the poor and suffering, yet those with the money have cold hearts and don’t want to share.
Your friends at work have something in common with you, you share work time. But that does not mean that those people can be trusted. They have the basic instincts to be nice, to make friends, to be kind, but they don’t follow good moral standards, they are not decent in their thinking, and in knowing that a person can realize that just because someone is around you and you get on it does not mean that this person can be trusted or is a honest person like you.
