Evil influences people who have already become desensitized to get them to convince you to work in a job where you see people in misery, struggling in a daily basis or at least on a regular basis. By doing this you will become like those guiding you, you will eventually turn the other way and get on with your own life pretending not to notice people’s suffering.
At first your heart breaks for these people you meet regularly through your work who are going through hard times. You feel so sad, you want to help, but your job requires you to be passive, non-active in charity, so you must do nothing or you will be fired. In fact you find that it is company policy for you to not care. You are being hired to not care, and told to use apathy so that the company can make money. (the root of all evil is “the love of money”).
You mention to seasoned workmates that you feel sad about unhappy suffering customers, and they tell you to, “get used to it”, that “other people’s problems are not yours” etc. They tell you to “do as they do”, but if they are cold to suffering, to do as they do is to become cold like them.
And so to be accepted by your workmates, and so people won’t think that you are gutless or a sooky baby or coward, you become desensitized to people’s lives. In time you lose empathy for the poor and needy, you fake smiles at work, you lose your shine, you have to wear makeup to hide the years of faking life. In fact for many it is the beautiful smile that God gave them that is being used by a company to make money.
Apathy has set in and you become just another depressed plastic employee who will abuse drugs, alcohol and party out of work hours to try to bring some happiness and friendship back into your anxious tired soul – but all these things don’t help at all, in fact in trying to “get away from it all” on the weekends you become even more tired for work on Mondays, and that just sets you off for a tiresome week and starting the week in the wrong attitude. You have become empty inside and nothing society offers can fill that feeling of emptiness.

If evil can get you into employment like that when you are young, then your lack of empathy will cause conflict with your future husband or wife, you will care far less than you should about your children. You lie to yourself and say that you must work for your family, but really you are people pleasing and suffering because you accepted the teaching of souls that have already become cold. They too were once like you were when you started work, but like you they felt the desperate need to be “modern”, “in with the times”, and “able” to do their job without being coldly judged by the desensitized crowd for being a beautiful soul.
So in a desperate want to be accepted and not seem as a freak or weird they willingly allowed themselves to become spiritually blind to people in need. And they told themselves that they must be strong, capable, and able to cast away such feelings to “make it”.
Because evil got you desensitized at a relatively young age it finally becomes your life. You lack care for others lives. You see starving people in magazines but it doesn’t mean much to you as you look for the TV page to get a “entertainment fix” to hide from yourself what you have become.
And there is the party this weekend that you can talk about excitedly before and after it. Maybe you will have a one night stand to get your “sex fix”, then go back home to your family wondering how life got so hard, and why you could not find true love. You ask yourself, “Why has your face last that glow?” “Why do people not understand you?” but in reality you have forgotten how to understand others and so you only see your own suffering (and imagined sufferings) through pitiful eyes of self pity, and the habit of blaming others becomes your bitter statement of why your life has become what it has, but the reality is that what you have given out to others for years is finally coming back to you tenfold. It won’t get better, because you won’t repent.

Once a person finds apathy then he or she won’t recognize love unless something outstanding happens to wake that person up.
A cold uncaring heart does not recognize the signs of true love, it recognizes only material things, money, self carnal satisfaction etc.
True love is not seen when one has taught themself not to see people with love.

Your career, job, money and material gain is not worth the sacrifice of not having love and compassion in your life.

For your own sake please do not allow society to make you spiritually blind, apathetic and desensitized.
Wake up your spirit and make sure you have a true meaning to life.
