One of the reasons for depression these days is the call for us to be a team member and to fit in with groups and other people.
Groups think as a group, not as individuals. Groups tend to have a leader, like politics and gangs, and all in that group must agree and follow the leaders thinking and group rules etc.
The problem is that we get used to being told what is acceptable, possible, accepted, reality, etc.
Peer pressure, people pushing us in one direction or the other, it all adds up to us losing our natural identity and in doing that we lose self respect, confidence and courage.
The opposite to confidence, courage and self respect is depression, anxiety, self hate and coping issues.
All the best from James Martin Sandbrook.
