They want us to think low of ourself so that we will have a weak willpower, and like that we will not try to believe that life could be better for us.

They don’t mind if we sin or struggle through life. That is not their problem. And if they give us bad advice they mostly don’t have to live with the results of their bad advice.
Please be wary of who you tell your troubles to.
