There was a famous pilot who was giving a show in an old biplane to the public. A young aircraft crew member fueled the plane previously.
Up he went in the plane, but it was almost immediately noticed that something seriously was wrong with the plane. The plane spluttered, coughed, chugged immediately after takeoff and was going to stall possibly killing the pilot.
With amazing skill the very experienced pilot landed the plane, and saved himself from what was nearly certain death. He then got out of the plane and very purposely walked straight to the young man who fueled the plane.
The young man having realized that he was in serious trouble was very worried and suspected with fear what he did wrong. The pilot walked to him, and in front of the public, put an arm around the young man’s shoulders and explained that this old biplane took normal fuel and not aircraft fuel, and that this was the reason that the plane was going to crash.
The young man with tears in his eyes realized with great shock his error. He realised that he should have done his homework about that biplane (a requirement for the job) was deeply sorry and ready to be fired from his job in shame.
But the pilot led him over to the plane and said that he realized that it was a mistake and he said that he wanted that young man to fuel his plane in the future when he went to that airport. The pilot said that now the young man had learned his error he could now be trusted.
The pilot had the choice of destroying a person’s confidence, and getting revenge by getting him fired and shamed publicly, or of instantly forgiving him and giving him a new chance, while also showing the young man that the pilot trusted him with his own life. The young man never let the pilot down again, he respected him so much for the way that he treated the young man.
Needless to say, the young man never made that mistake ever again and he deeply likes and respects the pilot who forgave him completely of the unforgivable crime of nearly killing him.

We treat people who we respect well because they have somehow earned our respect with their good character.
A good friend who is honest and always wants the best for us is someone we respect and who we will treat in the same manner.
Respect is earned. True respect does not come with a title or from having money or power. People who have positively made an uplifting difference to our lives we will respect. People who have done far more that we requested are people who we are grateful to, you know, those who go the extra mile for us.
People who forgive us, even when we don’t deserve it, and repay our meanness by their kindness and help people, are people who we respect and admire for their self control and kindness by giving us another chance and forgiving us.

Once upon a time, the King’s two Princes’ were playing in a forest, and – meeting one at a time – they came across four dwarves who asked them to be more careful.
The first dwarf had a headache and he asked them not to shout. The second dwarf was painting a landscape, and he asked the children to move away because they were blocking out the light. The third dwarf was doing a giant jigsaw puzzle in the middle of the road, and he asked the children not to tread on it. The fourth dwarf was watching a butterfly and he asked them not to frighten it away.
The Prince who respected others did as the dwarves asked, but the disrespectful Prince ignored the dwarves´ pleas, and kept bothering them. In the evening, both boys had become separated and lost. They needed to get back to the palace quickly.
Each of them separately came across the four dwarves again, and asked for their help. They refused to help the disrespectful Prince, but with the respectful Prince they did whatever they could to help, and took him along some secret tracks which led right to the palace.
The other Prince arrived much later, and was punished for it. He now understood that it’s much better to respect everyone if you want to have friends.

A long time ago a cruel king named Virat Singh was ruling the city of Vijay Nagar. All the citizens were fearful because of his cruelty.
Virat had a dog named Jack, which he loves more than anything. Jack was popular with the people. One sad fateful morning Jack died. Virat Singh organized last rituals for dog; and the entire city came to cremation ground to pay their last respects. Virat Singh was very happy to see that people love him so much and he felt he is the most popular king in the world.
But after few days Virat Singh died, but no one came his funeral.

Moral: Respect is something you have to earn, you cannot force it on others to respect you. There is a thin line between Fear and Respect, every one of us should understand it and do necessary corrections in our personalities.
