I remember at church a visiting Pastor said that, “God was almost supernatural.” and I thought to myself, “Of course God is supernatural,. God is obviously not of this world and yet has a very strong spiritual connection with this world. No matter who you Pastor is, a motivater, politician or how well an educated person is, one thing is for absolute sure, They Do Not Know It All! There is so much going on all around us at any given time that has nothing to do with us and yet so much happening that is directly to do with us, and most of the time we have completely no idea any of it is happening.
I went for a long cycle ride this morning, and I was on my way home coming up the Balmoral Drive hill and I was overtaken by a small car and on the roof of that car were two boxes of takeaways. They looked like the kind that were sold in town a fair distance away. The owner had probably bought them in town, kilometers away, driven on the highway and then past me.
At first I was surprised, and then I waved to him, but it seemed that at the time I started to wave at him he started to slow down. It was almost like telepathy or whatever they call it. When the man put on his brakes it was obviously the moment he realized that lunch was on the top of the car 🙂 As he applied the brakes one of the boxes of food slid off the roof and onto the bonnet of the car but it stopped there. I think that stopping on a hill helped because the front of the car was pointing upwards.
As I cycled past him he was getting out of the car gathering the two boxes. I yelled to him that I was glad he remembered them. I have no idea if this man was religious or what, but he was obviously, having traveled so far, getting some help from above. maybe it was special lunch for someone. Whatever the case, although I cannot explain what happened, and he cannot either, it happened perfectly in his favour and the food was not damaged, but probably a tad cooler 🙂
Atheists will blindly tell you that the whole thing was coincidence. This is the story that comforts them and helps them have faith in themselves and nothing else. What they do not understand is that anyone who loves someone will help that person to a degree whether they believe in them or not. This is what love does, this is what love means. Love is about sacrifice and commitment. There are always boundaries though that we won’t cross no matter how much we love others.
No one understands this world, the past or the future. Everyone needs to know this and yet be encouraged by it too. Amazing things happen everyday to people everywhere, we need to be very grateful and happy about such things 🙂
