The world of materialism has the husband and wife work 8+ a day, be in the company of other people, then “maybe” complete the day with unsatisfying sex and restless sleep.
Materialism is like feminism and chauvinism, all kill the love in a relationship. Feminism and chauvinism are selfishness based on gender.
Materialism cuts much deeper because it is the underlying root of the social problems of today. The love of money is the root of all evil. The love of anything is the idolizing of anything that is carnal, physical or what is put before God.
The Bible states that God is love. So anything put before love is desiring something so much that a person lives for that desire more than lives for love.

Genuine relationships are based on love for others. Foolish materialistic love is based on a desire for sex with someone ‘who will have you’. Oh sure, a marriage ceremony gives the impression of true love because a public showing off commitment is made, but is the love made for spiritual life or for materialism.

We have many females saying that they will marry the man who “will be the best for her”, that is being selfish,and also materialistic in thinking. Guys might marry a female for her sexual performance or her looks.
It’s a person marries someone because the crowd, family and friends want it to happen then this is obviously wrong, because this is not a heartfelt love.
If a person marries someone because they have a car, money, job, etc then the desire is materialism. In the future things can change and the person can lose the car, money and could end up with nothing.

Love is spiritual. Love has completely nothing to do with money, or material gain.
Today women and men become tired of each other because of work load, drugs, alcohol, school etc drain them physically and spiritually, leaving them disliking each other and fighting.
Sometimes adults go away sex naughty sexual weekends to get away from it all. What is holding the relationship together is two sex addicts with the same problem.
In days of old before electricity the man and women had many hours of just the two of them being close in spirit, emotionally, talk, laughter, storytelling of their pasts, and sexually. They had big families back then for a reason, they had lots of nigh-times together, they loved children and they loved being together.
The man and wife did not party, did not abuse alcohol and drugs, they didn’t watch movies or watch TV. Instead they got on intimately spending many years getting to know one another. This time sharing was the spiritual, physical and mental healing at the end of every day.

The male and the female were made to leave their parents and start a new family and want to be with each other as each other’s second-half.
