Why I No Longer Tell Men What “I’m Looking for in a Partner.
As tempting as it to share that checklist you have in your head, proceed with caution for one main reason :
“You’re giving someone easy access into winning you over.”
Steve Harvey said it best:
“You’re telling men how to win you over and developing the roadmap to your heart.”
By sharing what you’re looking for or what you like, you’ll be second guessing whether their gestures are genuine or not.
For instance:
Are those “romantic” gestures coming from a place of genuineness or are they to impress you to reach a desired “outcome”?
You don’t need that extra concern to worry about.
“I value someone whose words matches their actions.”
Above all:
It gets prospective dates asking “how?” instead of thinking “easy peasy”.
By not revealing what you like in a partner, you’re allowing the other person to stay true to who they are without the performances or quick gestures to win you over.
You’ll get to know someone at their core and discover whether their personality complements yours or not.
It sets the foundation for something real and genuine.
After all, a person who walks the talk is one of the most genuinely romantic ways to win someone over.
