AC/DC

AC = Alternating Current.

DC – Direct Current.

The hobbyist would more than likely use DC a lot.

Direct Current is electricity flowing in one direction, such as batteries which have Negative and Positive Terminals.

AC is normally the house electricity of Alternating Voltage.

Alternating current describes the flow of charge that changes direction periodically. As a result, the voltage level also reverses along with the current. Thomas Edison thought that houses should be supplied with DC, but time has showed that AC does a good job.
