In the past one of the ways that the religious caught the attention of the public in bad times was by the religious doing good deeds that no one else would do, and the religious wanted nothing in return for helping others, they just did the good deeds from the kindness of their hearts.

Also, when the whole world has turns on you over and over again, for many years, when someone reaches out to you with kindness and they don’t ask for anything back it can be a shock to someone who has only had kindness shown to them by people who want to take advantage of them. If the people who are kind represent God, then the person receiving the kindness can feel that God has the most loving and beautiful souls on Earth, and is very very grateful and wants to join them. It may take some kindness, but from this then he or she will in turn represent God, remember that blessed feeling of sharing and kindness and want to do this for others as it was done to this person.

As you can see, God cannot fix the world without your help.
God can wipe out the world, and God can start us again, but it is a far bigger better challenge if God found humans who wanted to show compassion and care for others without wanting anything back, and spreading this ever onward.
