Tokoroa Volunteer Fire Brigade

Even the lightening fast response from these Tokoroa Volunteer Fire Brigade men could not save this BSA motorbike from severe fire damage shortly after 10 a.m. The motorbike burst in to flames after back-firing on Bridge Street and provided for the public a spectacular sight for the large group of onlookers. But this was a sad moment for Mr T. Raiwhara, pictured left.

Tokoroa’s Volunteer Fire brigade won’t be stretched in an emergency when their new crash tender is ready for service – thanks to Tokoroa Round Table Club. The club donated a $150 emergency stretcher to the brigade on Tuesday night, and pictured with it are [From Left], fire Chief Mr George Marshall, and three Round Table members – John Steiner, Wally Bean and John Lacy.
