The Man of Depth and Value is a Gentleman for many reasons. One is that it is in his character to be kind, polite, considerate, helpful, and generous.

He also understands that being a good person means that people will respect and like him, trust him, and when they need help they know that they can trust a helpful kind person.

He also understands that not all people are on the same mental level as him or each other, and even though he may be nice to people they may not be nice back or they may wish to use him and abuse their friendship/relationship.

But a gentleman may note that someone is mean, unkind, a narcissist-type, but the gentleman knows that he is not as the other person is, so tries to keep a good relationship with this person and be a good helpful example. The Gentleman also knows that some people will never understand what a good person is all about, and that is all right, so the Gentleman keeps his distance where his personal feelings and personal life are concerned and still can within reason work with a not so nice person.

The man has read many books of how being a person of good will and kindness has helped other people in times of trouble and eased their load and they are grateful and pleased that this person has been in their life.

Being the person who we wish other people were to us is a good way to look at being a person of worth and value. How do you wish other people treated you? Treat people that same way, with compassion, kindness, fairness, while making the difference to people and the community as you wish had come your way in your life.

For instance, when dealing with children and helping them, consider what kind of kind considerate and fair people you would have liked to have known when you were a child, and now as an adult you be that yourself.

As a husband, think about how you want your wife to treat you and treat her that way. If you wish she would let you know how valuable you are in her life, let your life know how valuable she is in your life.

Gentlemanly behaviour helps people to like us, like to be with us, like having us around, and they know that they will get a fair deal and honest friendship from a gentleman.
