Nicola Tesla - Tesla Coil.

In 1891 Nicola Tesla invented the Tesla coil, an induction coil widely used in
radio technology. Nicola's father was an Orthodox Priest, his mother was unschooled but very intelligent. He had self-discipline and a desire for precision, both of qualities would help him in his inventions.

The Tesla Coil is widely used today in radio and television sets and other electronic equipment. Nicola Tesla only had a few close fiends such as Francis Marion Crawford, Robert Underwood Johnson and Mark Twain.

Nicola Tesla discovered the Rotating Magnetic Field, the basis of most
alternating-current machinery. Nicola Tesla imigrated to the United States
in 1884 and sold the patent rights to his system of alternating-current
dynamos, transformers, and motors to George Westinghouse the following year.
Nicola Tesla landed in America with 4 cents in his pocket. He first found
work with Thomas Edison. Tesla gave exhibitions in his laboratory in which he lighted lamps without wires by allowing electricity to flow through his body.
