My dog Joe and I just went for a walk (about 9:00 pm) and Joe and I came across some teenage girls walking the streets.
They saw us and waited across the road and I could see that they were drunk and they were all pretending to be talking but they were all looking at Joe and I. Then as I went up a street they all followed on the other side of the road, they were doing lots of talking and then they all stopped to check their shoes and were all looking at Joe and I. I was wondering where this was leading and finally Joe and I got ahead of them and they started making suggestive hints, which then led to other suggestions – all three were between the ages of 18 to 20 years old I would guess, young and pretty and sadly all drunk.
When I see people drunk it makes me very sad. One reason is that I used to be like that. I feel sorry for them because the are in a state where their mind cannot function properly and they are not able to cope with what they are doing. Society today promotes the idea of putting the mind in this cloudy state of being even though it causes so much stress and mayhem every weekend all over the world. We need to look out of the square and look at the statistics to realise that this is not a good global situation, and is a bad local situation in our own homes, towns and cities. These three girls were young, pretty and acting foolish. They had joined the billions all over the world who partake in drugs and alcohol every weekend hurting themselves and hurting other people, and all in the name of fun.
The 3 girls were walking behind Joe and I stalking us, trying to get me to talk to them and take them up on their conversation. Suddenly a big dog came running down a driveway growling ferociously and Joe was scared and so was one of the girls so I calmed Joe while telling the girl that the dog was all bark, but the dog seemed to mean business so I growled at the dog and I am happy to say he run off back home. This seemed to calm the girls down and they quieted down a bit and then restarted their comments but by then Joe and I were further away and I think the girls found the party that they had left.
These young females have so much promise for the future and the peer pressure and pull of being accepted in society has drawn them to doing things that will tear away their respect for themselves and the respect other people would have for them. I feel very deeply sorry for them, and as they were when I saw them they were not interested in stopping for a simple chat. That young age is an age when they are supposed to be joining adulthood as confident strong willed people who are wanting to get a taste of life and the world. Instead they will just get wasted each weekend with ‘the bro’s” and it doesn’t take much imagination to imagine all the other sad things that will happen to them.
My ex-wife had a friend who would go out and drink with her work-mates and one morning she came to our house desperately crying and told my ex-wife that she had gone out drinking with her friends that night and woke up that morning in a bed with 5 young Maori males – all teenagers and she had never met any of them before. She looked at them and they were all asleep so she left immediately and came to our house to share her shock, great loss of respect for herself and was horrified that she couldn’t remember a thing that she had done that night, or how she got to be in that position and what happened.
This is all due to the society-accepted drug and drinking culture that people actively join in every weekend. Especially our beautiful and full of life youth. And the damage is painful. My parents were both abusers of drugs and alcohol and my sisters and I were hurt by this often. I have many, many painful shocking stories that I could tell of people getting hurt like that girl in the previous story. For your own sake, your children’s your grand-children’s sakes, be wise and learn to look out of the square in your own life. Under the influence of alcohol and drugs it is easy to see from the above comments that we can sell our soul and bodies in the name of fun and pay the price for it. It is far better to have control of our own minds day and night and know where we are, who we are with, and what we are doing. And be safely wrapped up warm in the home of those that we love the most.
