For a person to truly love themself they need to respect themself.
For a person to really love God or the world they must know what love is. They must open their heart and let love in and let love out.
The ways of society have taught us to follow the masses in a quest to find the unfindable – a quest to satisfy the “self” by chasing unreachable dreams and wild fantasies based on selfish satisfaction. The simple reason for the starving and poor of the world is that the world is after selfish dreams – society points us in the direction of selfish satisfaction.
Some have realized that the answer to happiness lies within oneself.
Negative things that we do, do not bring us happiness. Negative things that we have done or are ashamed of leave a darkness inside of us – and if that darkness is allowed to grow or stay there it comes out in our character.
Positive things that we do will bring us happiness. If we get right with ourselves and the world we will lift that darkness and our character will change and the world will know it.
Inner peace comes from us being at peace with ourselves.
When a person is driven by selfish goals they are not at peace in their heart because their focus is on the outside. By selfish we mean goals that are focused on self-achievements, lusts, greed’s etc.
We cannot have inner peace until we love ourself. We cannot love ourself unless we forgive ourselves with all our heart and soul for the past mistakes and mean things that we have done, and the things that we are ashamed of.
We cannot love ourselves until we forgive all those who have wronged us – this can be done when we realize that we too did wrong to others and did mean things, and we want to be forgiven too.
We need to be responsible for all the wrongs that we have done and we need to face up to the people who we have hurt and apologize with all our heart and soul.
To fake our love, forgiveness and apologies simply leaves the darkness within us and can be seen by our interaction with the world. Negative, angry, bitter people have darkness in them and it is seen in their character – but it isn’t the real person. The darkness must be removed to find the real person, and this must be voluntary.
To say that we regret the past but don’t do anything about it is simply talk, it does no good at all – we must live the change. Action needs to be taken so that we can know deep inside that we did the right thing by repenting and apologizing when needed – we let the darkness out of our soul when we let go.
Be honest with yourself. If you are responsible for the things that you did in the past and truly regret those bad things then you are standing strong in your love and honesty. It takes courage to stand up and make right the wrongs of the past and present.
We love ourselves when we do the best that we can do.
We love ourselves when we sacrifice for others.
We love ourselves when we do kind things for others.
We love ourselves when we right wrongs.
We love ourselves when we care for the needy and give with honorable hearts.
We love ourselves when we are responsible.
We love ourselves when we stand up for the weak.
We love ourselves when we are the love that we want to see in the world.
When we did the wrongs we were lost, confused and didn’t know how to deal with life. To know that those things were wrong means that we are on the right track. To repent is even better, it is good for the soul to know that we reversed our life and that we will never do those wrongs ever again. And to “right those wrongs” is a very satisfying experience – we love ourselves for this, because it is righteous, honorable and shows that we love and care for others, even those that we have wronged.
To love ourselves we need to get right with the world and with ourself. All this apologizing and forgiving brings peace to other people and brings peace to our own hearts and souls, it lifts our spirits and brings happiness that we have never known before.
“All things become new” means change. It means repenting, forgiving, apologizing, and it means emptying the mind of all its falseness, bitterness, angers and errors of judgments and much more, and then we become a new person that wants to live a simple peaceful loving life with God watching over and protecting us.
God is love, and Love is the answer to all your problems.
If we let love into our heart, then we release the darkness from our souls and all things become new.
All the best from
James M Sandbrook.
