Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

 

Ask God and God will do it – this is true if you are asking for good. If we are “not right with God” then God knows that we are lost and cannot know what it is that we are asking, because the lost ask for many things and they know not what they are asking. This is one reason why ‘all prayers are not answered’ – because some of us are asking for things that are not right for us and others.

An example of this could be a female who is suffering mental health issues and asks God for a man to marry. She has an idea of what type of man that she wants to marry and she prays for this type of man. God would want this person’s mental issues dealt with first, or even possibly God will send this person to a person who can help her with her issues and from all of this she changes her life, her views and her wants where marriage is concerned. And she is cured of her problems.

Another example is a person who is lonely and prays to God for a partner to live with (To live in sin). God’s ways are marriage and God will set a person up with someone to marry. But this very loose attitude of this person needs correcting before God would send someone to that person for marriage. So this person’s weak society driven views are from a person who is “not right” with God.

We must walk forth with faith in God’s knowledge of you and I, and of the past and what is to come in the future. God is all knowing and wise.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you

If we abide in God’s ways then God’s words will abide in us.

 

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

We should think about God’s laws day and night and we should let them bother our conscience and thoughts. They should be for guidance and thought all day long.

 

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

Sin and constant sin breaks communion with God. To be close to God we must do what we can to lead that good decent life.

We need to follow Christ in all ways, not simply the ways that suit us.

What I mean is that we are to open our mind to understanding the evil ways of today’s world and not follow them or agree with them. We must know what is right or wrong in our hearts and souls and then live on those thoughts. We need to confess our sins and get right with God.

We must commit ourselves to following God’s will and we should desire to do God’s will.

 

Many people today claim to know God’s will and they demand that we follow their will. Your walk is between you and God. Get close to God as all things become new in your life and then you will know God’s will better.

 

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

 

And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

 

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
