And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD...

Samson was to be one of the great heroes of the faith. But due to his foolish choices, refused to do good at times and not following God his life ended in great shame and defeat.

Defeated by the ways of the flesh, defeated by his own foolishness, and his own opinions. He had a weakness for the wrong type of women.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

○

A city without walls is weak because the attackers can attack it and easily weakened and break down the insides until total collapse.
If we do not have a solid faith and solid foundation of belief in God then we will act careless, foolish, and be easily led by evil to our final painful destruction. Easily led, easily fed and easily taken.

It is those who have hardened hearts that are so gullible and easily led in the masses to follow foolishness which leads them all to their destruction. All around them they see foolishness but they accept it as a part of life and live it because to them it is acceptable and they even call it fun and good.

There was so much going for Samson if he had done as he was supposed to do. If he had followed God as a good decent courageous person. We can all learn from this example. We can see that Samson could have done so much better but he had no self control and instead let himself give in to his weaknesses.

Samson didn’t learn to submit to authority. And his lack of control was his downfall. His carry on with Delilah brought his final shame and great suffering. Foolishly he played games with her until he was nearly destroyed and then with no sight and in great shame he was destroyed in his last effort to do something for God.

And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.

And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.

But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

We all have a chance to do right in the sight of God. This is a wonderful opportunity in our lives and something that we should treasure and hold very close to our loving hand willing hearts.
But we can also turn away from God, do wrong and God will depart from us because God cannot take part with us in bad actions. God wants to walk with us in love side by side. We choose our master by the life we lead, and in many ways we choose our worldly destiny and fate by the choices we make during our lives.

We all have a calling, we all have talents that God has given us – we can use them for good or bad, that is our free choice, but we will live the results of those choices. It is a far far better thing that we do by finding our talents and using them to help God fight the evil in this world and bring love peace and harmony to this world.
