Creation – Sermon.

Pastor invited me to talk to you today/tonight and gratefully I have accepted this invitation. It is a great honour to speak to people about God and His intention for all us people on His planet. Just as Jesus preached to all who would listen, Gods love reaches out to us on a daily basis while He tries to show us the way to lead good lives. I consider this a great opportunity that I have today and I am pleased to be here. I hope to have many more chances of speaking to you about God, and being a Christian.

When we are talking to non-Christians we could be asked about Creation, which is of course God creating the earth and all life on it. Evolution is the scientists theory of how the earth was made and how the evolutionists think life was made. Evolution is the answer that non-Christians have that they think that disproves the Bible. We can’t really blame non-Christians since they were told that evolution is the truth through schooling systems and science books.

With Gods will I hope to be able to enlighten you with an interesting sermon, something you can take home and think about during the week. I would like to talk to you today about Creation and evolution. The creation of earth, animals and mankind. Please stand while we read Gods word. Lets start at the beginning. If we turn to Genesis Chapter 1, Verse 1. We read that “In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth.” This is the first verse that we find in the Holy Bible. (Read to verse 10).

Please bow your heads and close your eyes for prayer. “Father I ask you to please bless these good people who have come here today to hear the preaching of your Holy book the Bible and to be guided in Christian life. Please help these people understand the sermon that I am to speak and understand how it can help them in their lives and the lives of other people. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen”. Please be seated.

How was the earth created, Creation or evolution? Many people at different periods of their lives ask themselves these very questions, you and I are in a position to help answer that question or at least give these people something serious to think about. Many people have asked themselves “What is the point of living?” and “What is the meaning of life?” Should we believe the Bible? And how does the Bible compare to the claims of scientists? People have been asking themselves these questions for centuries.

In Genesis verse 11 we read ‘And God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. (Read to verse 19).

Some people have scoffed at these Holy words. I admit when we are brought up in school systems that teach us so much about science and fact, that the contents of Genesis can seem to be hard to believe. But Christians believe these Holy words and that’s what’s important, if it were not for our faith then Christianity would have died many years ago. But what could we make of what science claims? Evolutionists claim that we are descendants of apes. This makes us an animal like all other animals, an intelligent animal, but an animal just the same. You would all have heard of this theory. The world has many animals living on it so this means that we are just one of the many animals that inhabit this wonderful planet.

The general scientific belief is that the birth of the first life on earth happened by chance, it was a fluke of nature. They believe that there was no plan. So human life on earth has no meaning, it does not contain any reason for us being born – we just exist because, we are. This is not a very satisfactory explanation of the creation of life or the creation of human life. Evolutionists believe that God does not exist and that they have the proof to prove this. My belief is that evolution is simply a theory, or a suggestion and nothing more.

(Read verses 20 to verse 24).

Many scientists have said that the earth was made and everything on the earth was lifeless, no life existed at all. The planet was a bare, dusty, rocky and barren planet in the universe like many other planets that exist today, there were poisonous gases everywhere on earth in the beginning. Then by pure incredible coincidence after many, many years two dead things somehow banded together possibly with the aid of water which possibly existed at this time and created the first microbe or organism, the first tiny life form on earth according to them. Or maybe a single organism found life somehow? Some tiny form of life was created by some form of deadness. This does not seem possible to me. They are saying that life came from non-life, we all know that life can only come from life. It is scientifically proved that you cannot get life from something that is not alive. Simple common sense is all that is needed to see that the theory of evolution does not have the answers that we have been looking for. Another question we could ask ourselves is “Why are there not more planets that have life on them?”

The next step in their theory was that more tiny life forms were created either this same way or somehow were created from the first life form. This would also mean that each life form that evolved from these first amazing life forms, each plant, each insect, each animal on land and in the sea was a fluke of nature as well. This is all an incredible coincidence if it where true, very incredible to say the very least. The theory is that each life form that is on the earth today in all its complexity came about by pure coincidence, not by choice. And by some amazing twist of nature we have the perfect life giving planet, all that we humans need, and all that the other animals need to stay alive and healthy is here for us to use. The perfect setup, they claim, happened by accident. Remember they claim that the planet earth had no living creatures on it at all after the planet was formed. Nothing, no life at all.

To confuse things more, these life forms became bigger life forms and then somehow got consciousness, they became aware that they exist. Another amazing thing that happened was that these life forms, the apes that they claim that developed into human beings had the ability to think, create, examine, invent, learn and love. These are amazing coincidences if we were to believe what evolutionists claim.

I personally would prefer to believe that I had a reason for being born. That I was important, special in some way, not a mere twist of fate. I prefer to believe that God believes in me. I do believe that God believes in you. If you look carefully into the claims of science you will see that those claims are hard to believe. In fact they are just theories put together by mankind in a desperate attempt to disprove the divine existence of God.

(Read verses 25 to 28).

Science hasn’t always disbelieved in God creating earth and life on earth. Sir Isaac Newton, the famous mathematician and physicist, and one of the foremost scientific intellects of all time, said “God is known from His works.” Louis Pasteur who was famous for his vaccination techniques and research in this field once said “The more I study nature, the more I stand amazed at the work of the Creator.” These great minds saw no conflict between science and religion. In fact Robert Boyle who is considered the Father of chemistry wrote extensively about both science and the Bible. It is only in recent times that many scientists have decided to question whether God created earth and life on earth.

Albert Einstein who is considered to have had the greatest mind of all time had many quotes about God and religion such as this: “Science without religion is lame.”

To my surprise I found that many scientist today believe in Creation as it is stated in the Bible. A scientist Dr John Ashston decided to ask PhD qualified scientists why they believe in a literal six day creation. The result was a book called “In Six Days”. The book explains why 50 scientist choose to believe in Creation. Dr John Ashston believes that many scientist believe in Creation but they won’t speak up because they believe their careers would be in jeopardy if they did so.

What does this all tell us?

I believe that it shows us that even the scientific world has doubts about its general views on how mankind and earth was created. It also proves to you that mankind has never found a way of disproving the Holy Bible. Don’t get me wrong, I firmly believe that God loves all His children including the scientists of the world. In fact I’d guess that God is plainly impressed by the discoveries that mankind has made through the scientific fields. It proves that God didn’t make a mistake about human ability to think, study and invent on our own. God is proud of our achievements just as you would be proud of your children’s achievements.

And you being here in a church shows that you are here to find answers and to learn the truth of life by learning about Gods word from the preaching of our Pastor. So my message to you today is that even the most educated persons on this planet have not found a way to disprove the Holy Bible. I heard recently that the world has over a billion Christians and I can tell you that there is plenty of room for more souls in Heaven. So be a good Christian and let your faith flow from your soul out into the world, letting non-Christians know that you know the truth, and that you are willing to share the truth with anyone who is willing to learn from you.

Father I ask you to please bless these good people who have come here today to hear the preaching of your Holy book the Bible. I ask that you continue to bless our Pastor with Heavenly love and continue to guide him as he spreads the word. I ask that you please bless our Pastors family for their support in helping Pastor while he works for you. Father I asked that these people that are gathered here today to honour you, be shown the way to Heaven in all that they do and say. I ask that they please learn to use their faith in you to spread the word of the Holy Bible to all their friends and family throughout their term here on your chosen planet earth. Father I ask that you please send your love to these good people and keep them safe from all that is bad and guide them. Father we thank you for all that you have done for us. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Failure:

We should never connect ourselves to a failure in the simple belief that we are connected to that failure, “the failure and I are one”. Because it simply is not true, a failure is an event or a happening in our lives, but it is not part of us – just something that happened to us.

Faith:

When you get married you have faith that the relationship will work. When you try to walk you have faith that you will be able to do it, mainly because you see your family walking and if they can do it, you can do it. And so it is the same with faith in God. You see other Christians who have faith, therefore you also can have faith.

Creation and what do the scientist really want. Science knows what is written in the Bible, but they see that it is written in simplicity. Scientist want to see specific scientific terms of how the world was created, they want to see blue prints, and find it hard to believe such a huge creation as the entire universe could be created in such a short period of time.

The people who wrote the Bible back in the old days of Moses and the like were of simple nature, this shows in the ways that they acted and lived their lives. Moses could not possibly write Creation out in scientific terms, he did not have the mental education or mental ability at that time do such a thing. Scientist should have the knowledge to realise this, they of all people know of man back in those times.
