Prayer

Prayer-Sermon.

Today I would like to talk about prayer and the benefits of praying. People have been praying to God for thousands of years.
The reason to make contact with the Creator of all things. We see that prayer is mentioned many times in the Holy Bible.

In 1 Kings Chapter 8, Verse 22, we read that Solomon stood before the alter of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward Heaven.

Here we read that Solomon was reaching out to Heaven to speak to God.

1 Kings Chapter 8, Verse 54 And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

1 Kings Chapter 9, Verse 3 And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me:

Do you pray often? I do.

If you want to get closer to God then prayer is the way to do it. Pray often, day or night. God listens to those who make the effort constantly to speak to Him.

To get on your knees is not to put yourself down, its more of a chance for you to let God know that you are willing to get down on your knees to show God that He is truly the Creator of mankind in your eyes.
You are letting God know that your ego is not bigger than God and that when you are praying you are also being Humble. This has been called the body joining the soul in praying. To many this is the accepted way to pray, but there are other ways to pray as well. Like when you go for a long walk you can silently pray to God telling Him about your day, the things that worry you, the things that you are truly grateful for and how much you appreciate God, and being given the chance to live this life with all its challenges.

There would be a lot less need for psychiatrist and therapists if people prayed more, and often. Let God know all your troubles with prayer.
There is no time limit, take as long as you need to let your heart out to God. Let your heart flow when the need arises. God requires you to pray if you are to connect with Him. Gods approval is on those who pray with all their hearts.

“Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.”
Sometimes people wonder why their prayers are not answered or at least it may appear so that they are not answered. It may surprise people that it would be unwise to answer every bodies prayers. Because we all have such fickled thoughts, wants or needs. Can you imagine all the people in one household praying for a car! Each one prays for a special type of car, all different from the other, but the family only needs one car.

Sometimes prayers are not answered because they do not deserved to be answered.
Maybe the person praying is not worthy yet of having their prayers answered. Maybe they are still sinning in some small way that goes against the goodness of Gods will. There can be many reasons and it is up to us, not God, to find out what we may be doing wrong in our daily lives.

When you pray you need to be sure that you are not praying for some selfish reason. Always be honest in prayer.

God signifies Holyness to us humans. And Heaven is the place for Holy people, good people.

Genesis 20:7 Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.

1 Kings 8:45 Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

All the best from
