Remember when you hear a sermon and you take notes try to go back to those notes during the week.
If you heard the sermon on Sunday then there will be sometime during the week where those notes will come in handy.
When you can you can reread the sermon taking particular care to note the verses and what they mean to you.
I have a computer programming book which the writer wrote “If we had 100 computer programmers in a room and they were all asked to write software that would do something that could be used for a certain task that we would end up with 99 different ways to do the same thing.
Verses often mean different things to different people at different times of their lives. Stories from the Bible can be applied again and again in our lives by simply using our imagination and asking God through prayer to show how they apply in our life today.
An example of this is being in the wilderness today could be those lost in sin walking around in circles day by day doing the same thing over and over again chasing lusts and finding the feelings that fill their egos.
Being in slavery could be applied today as being a slave of TV, drugs, alcohol, the crowds wishes, sports, politics etc. If anything has a control over our life then we are a slave to it. Even our weaknesses. Or a people pleaser is a slave to hoping that they please people, they are a slave to this weakness and their lives will never progress from it until they have the courage to break free.
The Bible can be applied today if we want to use it in our lives. God’s messages apply to our lives and have from the beginning of time but we will only get the message if our ears are listening and the soul willing.
Rereading those notes could make a big difference to your week.
2 Timothy Chapter 3, verse 16:
