Why do we need to repent?

We need to acknowledge that we have done wrong in the past and now we want to do better in the future. If we do not acknowledge what we have done wrong then we cannot change our ways from bad to good. We need to ‘see’ what we have done wrong in the past or we cannot learn that we shouldn’t do them anymore.

Admitting that we have sinned in the past is common sense. Its stating as with repentance that we know what we have done wrong and now we are willing to step forward and do good in Gods name. Why in Gods name? If we do it in our own name we may (or most likely) could become arrogant. To do things in Gods name we are protecting ourselves from becoming arrogant and pompus.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father I pray today to let you know that I want to follow your ways. I want to become a child of yours, learning your ways that are good for myself and mankind. Heavenly Father I know that I have done wrong, in the Bible this is called sin. I ask please to be forgiven for these mistakes of the past as I was only reacting to my life’s situations. I ask please that Jesus Christ come to me to lead me by the hand to do good and teach me the ways of Holiness that I must learn to be a good person of God. I am willing from this day forth to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Amen.
