Genesis Chapter 1, verse 1.
Let us all bow our heads and pray. Heavenly Father, please bless these souls who have come to this church to show their love for you. Please fill their hearts with love and joy from Heaven as they go about their business during the week. Each and everyone of them has taken time away from their lives to be here with you, each has sacrificed something to be here in your honour. Please reward them for their efforts to get to know you better, by guiding them through their week towards happiness as your children. Father please help me inspire these good people with your love. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
Genesis Chapter 1, verse 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
The creation of the Earth was an act of love from God to you.
This verse shows Gods total love for mankind. What an amazing gift.
Always remember that this planet is a gift and that your life is another gift which each and everyone of you got from God personally.
In fact God is pleased that you are here to day. You do Him a great honour by being here in this church. He knows that you are trying to get closer to Him and that you want help Him. God is pleased that you are trying, you fill His heart with love and joy by being here to worship Him.
<A Psalm of David.>
[Page 440] Psalms Chapter 23, verse 1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psalms 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Psalms 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Psalms 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Psalms 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
David plainly shows us here that he has total faith in God and that he believes that God will protect him from evil and David is comforted by God being with him. His cup overfills with obvious goodness that clearly comes from God. David has plenty because he follows Gods rules and lives the life that God has set before him. God has rewarded David for listening to God and obeying Gods rules. The rules were given to us because God loves us and wants to help us but we have the choice to accept them. God wants to be fair to us and let us have that choice.
[Page 475] Psalms 111, verse 1
To follow Gods commandments is to do good in His eyes. The true way to be a Christian is not to do ungodly acts. If you are uncertain if an act is ungodly then just ask yourself “Would Jesus do this?” and if the answer is no then don’t do it.
We should submit to God through our hearts and not through our heads for Gods love is for us is from the heart. We should submit to God fully in the total belief that He will look after us and bring us happiness. All we need to do is totally believe and receive.
God has not dumped us on this planet to struggle and suffer. He gave us all the tools that we would need to survive. He gave us our minds and He gave us the Bible with its worthy rules to follow should we choose to.
[Page 788] John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Jesus has a great love for mankind, and those who go to Him can believe that He will ensure that they will have their basic needs met.
[Page 722] Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Jesus is saying that if you have faith, that Jesus will look after you. But that their your must be total and you must submit totally to the teachings of Jesus Christ and live good and Holy lives by following the Commandments.
Luke 6:36 Be full of pity, even as your Father is full of pity.
Luke 6:37 Be not judges of others, and you will not be judged: do not give punishment to others, and you will not get punishment yourselves: make others free, and you will be made free:
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, crushed down, full and running over, they will give to you. For in the same measure as you give, it will be given to you again.
Your Father in Heaven wants you to be as He is. He wants you to love all others on this planet as He does. Not just the brothers and sisters of this church but all of mankind. For we are all His children.
Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Remember that if God is with us then nobody can be against us and win for we have the ultimate power of the universe, our Heavenly Father with us.
Let God be your inspiration, let God be your guiding light.
You must let down your defenses that have built up over your lifetime. Things like:
Your ego.
Easy to anger
Hatred
Selfishness
Unhappiness
Hardness to life.
If you had a hard life all these things help protect you from other people hurting you, or at least they appear to help protect you. They actually distance you from other peoples affections and love. But they also distance you from God. This is why you need to be humble in character. God cannot get through to you if you have any of these undesirable characteristics in your personal nature.
You can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth you.
And always remember – there is only one way to look when you are a good Christian and that’s upwards!
Speak from the heart. Think of the people in the audience, think of what they need. They need spiritual uplifting. They need to know of Gods love for them and that God has not left them high and dry on this planet to suffer and struggle. God can actually give all people help through His spiritual ways. Tell them of this. Tell them how God can help them. Tell them that Jesus came to show them how God can help them. Tell them that their faith in Gods love must be total. They must lead good Holy lives. They must love one another. They must help one another.
To me life is like many cycles that keep repeating themselves until you find a way to deal with each one. Once it is dealt with you then move onwards. As far as the Ten Commandments are concerned you would need to deal with each commandment until you finally fully obey them all. This is by no mean an easy task but Jesus surely showed us all that we can accomplish this amazing feat.
All the best from
