I read this as whatever the task is ahead of us, with the Power of God behind us we cannot be beaten. So the only thing to consider is “Is God behind us?” If He is helping you along then the task ahead of you will be accomplished because God approves of it, and it is His will that it be done – for the greater good of all. His power will see you through any task, but only if you choose to do it. If you want to do evil then God will not support you, but if what you wish is good, wholesome and your heart is in order then you should expect the best.
Psalm 55, verse 22: Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
The only doubts are “Are we following God’s will?” Doing as He asks. Are we submitting? For what we ask we must do ourselves for that is the law as well.
1 Peter Chapter 5, verse 6: Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 1 Peter Chapter 5, verse 7: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
One major thing that often holds people back from following God’s will is that they let the past opinions (formed in the past when a person hadn’t come to God and taught under the guidance of evil – or under the guidance of someone who were overpowering and demanding) decide for them what to do in the future. They will judge God’s teaching or guidance and say “No, you cannot do that because of blah blah happened in the past…!” Our belief-System with God must be new, and the old days cast away and the old ways put away. Its time for “The New” under the guidance of Christ.
Submitting means doing it no matter what your current opinion is, because your old-opinion was based on past experiences and relationships formed then. An example is sin. If you are doing something but you feel that it is not right but you have always done it then you could override that little feeling of guilt in your soul that says “Don’t do this anymore, it is not right!” and keep doing the bad thing. All things must become new, we must do all that we can to become better and our life will reflect that in love, friendships and family. How can all of God’s power be behind us if we are deliberately and actively sinning – God cannot support that. God will teach us to get away from our addictions and sins though, if we submit and are faithful.
Romans Chapter 12, verse 2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The past is not your guide, and the past is not your future. It can be learnt from, but after we change our ways and regret the negatives of the past we don’t need to use the past to react to anymore – this is when we put our faith in a new Belief-System. The past is full of mistakes, confusions and continued lostness that took us away from Real-Life. Real-Life is reality and that is living as God designed us to live. God’s power is the greatest and we can have trust in that love.
Romans Chapter 12, verse 21: …overcome evil with good.
Do we look at others of our faith and say “Where is your faith?” and then we rely on luck and refuse to go where God is obviously pointing us? We may say, “Where is the power in their faith?” We must be doers of the Word of God and not just talkers. The change is hard, we can admit that. This is where we need to grow a will to change, and go forth bravely like David did and take on those challenges and grow into a new being in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
God can teach you to love. To have new friends. To learn of new possibilities. Will give you an entirely new life with worthy people. God knows your fears, and has seen and felt your innocent and not so innocent tears. He knows your grief. He knows your heart. God knows you. Follow and grow into a better person and your world will change (this is for Christians as well) for the better. God only knows and God is love. And that is the power behind us.
2 Corinthians Chapter 5, verse 17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
The task ahead of you is never as great as the Power behind you! Because the power behind you that is supporting you as you grow is the greatest power of all, and that great Power is God and God Loves you. So lets have faith in God and His power of love to protect us, help us, guide us and make life happen for us. Let’s make an effort to get closer to that power and have all of it behind us, supporting us in all that we do.
Romans Chapter 8, verse 31: What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
With that power of God behind you really have nothing to worry about.
Philippians Chapter 4, verse 13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
