Those who are the salt of the earth will be known by their fruits of their labour.
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

Salt has flavour and is in every kitchen to add flavour to the food that is being prepared.
Salt is important for our health. By saying that we are the salt of the earth we are saying that we, those who follow God, are the flavour to the earth.
We are humans with that ‘something more’ – we have knowledge and information and unconditional love for all the world.
We are God’s blessings to a lost world, we have a place at every dinner table, at every meeting and in every home, if people will accept us. We tell of repentance and Salvation and Jesus.
Salt is good for a healthy diet and we are good for the world. We are needed like salt is needed.

Mark Chapter 9, verse 50:
Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
○
Job Chapter 6, verse 6:
Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
○
There is no real taste in the white of an egg, add salt to it and it tastes fine.
○
Unsavoury US, unsavory:
(TheFreeDictionary)
adj
1. objectionable or distasteful an unsavoury character
2. disagreeable in odour or taste
○
Things that are unsavory can be eaten with the addition of salt on them. Salt adds taste to many things. We are to be a joy to the world, bringing the Good News with happiness. The world is not to see us as unsavory, but to rejoice in our coming to their aid. They will do this is we are worthy of their attention so we must be truthful, honest, we must bring hope to them. We must bring truth but not be hypocrites and we mustn’t be disagreeable to them, or objectionable and distasteful.
If we are false the world will trample us beneath their feet.
Our impact in the world should draw people nearer to God. If we lose our flavour, lose our faith and our testimony then we will draw people away from God. Tasteless salt is worthless and so are tasteless people who pretend to follow God. Either we follow God or we don’t and that should be final. We shouldn’t be sitting on the fence.

Jeremiah Chapter 13, verse 10:
This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
○
God makes it clear here that those who follow evil are good for nothing.
Don’t tell yourself lies. Don’t try to fool your conscious.
Don’t try to fool your common sense. Right is right and wrong is wrong.
Make your choice.
Before refrigeration salt was used to preserve the food and in these days we are to preserve God’s Word and we can only do this if we are salt that has flavour and is worthy, otherwise we will be trampled under people feet as worthless.
God will raise those that follow Him in Truth because they will spread the Word and bring the world closer to God.
Like a candle that has light to shine, if it is down low it can be useless, but up high its light will shine far and wide bringing people to God and bringing the world peace and harmony.
Those who are the salt of the earth will be known by their fruits of their labour.
Also they have God’s protection, God’s guidance and grace.
All the best from
