I was watching Crossing Rachmaninoff and skipped just over halfway through (I seldom do this) and Flavio Villani is playing (what to me is a) complex piece of music on the piano and while watching I thought how hard that must be. But then I realised that he loves the music, loves what he is doing, loves the life musical journey he is on so it is not hard, it is magical, an effort,

At the beginning he says that he always wants to do something with the piano, but he had been told that he would never be a pianist, he was told that for him is too late, he says that he really has to believe in himself so much, and to do that you have to be very brave.

What he does he loves, therefore what he does is not work, but a joy and passionate about music and playing.

If he had listened to the people who said they be could not do it no one, including himself, would never have heard the beautiful music that comes from his piano.

What people say is only a reflection of what they have become in th free to ye own personal life journey. After he became a good pianist people say that he has “talent”.

Life is like that, once we have found how to express our soul through our heart to the world in some way people don’t see the hard times, hard work, doubts and years of practice, they only see, hear and feel the genuine magical results that touch their hearts in a deep sensitive way.

He talks about the setbacks, doubts, journey, is he of value to other people,

He starts out in Auckland, New Zealand, and then going to Rome to play with an orchestra for the first time.

All the best from James Martin Sandbrook.
