A group of friends silhouetted against the sunset, enjoying a moment in nature.

We are surrounded by people our entire lives that tell us to be free, to think for ourselves, to do and be as we want to be, and that we can be anything, while the entire time they tell us this they are also telling us to Stop, Obey rules, Do as you are Told, Behave, get in Line, and so on, also they tell us to copy others, to be like someone else, to follow the crowd, be like everyone else in society.

You may be told to be an individual, then are told to copy successful people, do as the crowd does, follow what is popular, and many will also try to quieten your voice and try to stop you having your rightful say.

Many young people get rather frustrated at school because subconsciously they are trying to put together what they are told so that they can form rational thinking.

We all want to think logically and for ourselves, we all ant to be heard, and hopefully what we say will be worth hearing and even might make some much needed changes int he world or our own community.

Told often to be themselves, while also constantly being told to limit themselves, behave, follow the rules a person can struggle within to comply to what they are told because it has them going in two directions.

When elections come we are told to vote.

But, large amounts of people, unknown to even themselves, vote for who their parents voted for. If the family was traditionally farmers they all voted The National Party, if the family were on a welfare benefit they voted Labour, and so on down the family line – meaning that if your parents voted Labour, these is a strong chance you will also vote The Labour Party here in New Zealand.

This is not thinking, this is following “what has always been done”, you know, what the family has always done, or family tradition. There is no thinking in this. This is growing up, accepting what family does, and then copying them.

Same for schools as it has recently in the last decade or so been talked about schools being politically bent in one direction, thus most or all of the teachers may be liberals, thus this will come out in their lessons, or in general talks when the teachers talk o the students in class, uncontrollably they teachers will give their views and show the dark side of the political party they dislike and paint the political party that they do like as best. Many students struggle with this, and even if their parents always voted national, 15 years of schooling has the young adult following the views of their teachers and not family, this too is not thinking for yourself.

“How do you think” where politics is concerned?

The wise thing to do is conduct your own research, and even if family or school has bent your thinking of approval of a political party in one direction, consider the options because political leaders change their views, new leaders have new views, and you may find to your surprise that you prefer another political party at least for this upcoming election more than another.

Read about the policies of all political parties, the intentions of the leader and political party, what their views are and so on. Get the gist of what they are all about. Consider what you want to see happen, and not what parents, family or other influences are wanting you to do, think for yourself.

Society will pull you left and right.

All your growing years you will be told that wherever direction you are being nudged to everyone says that it is all right, and you can see these things as Options, but seeing as they are already there and readily available you are being entertained with activities, (and this to some extent is good), but what about your own ideas, thoughts, feelings and wants, also your needs?

Please remember, that when you follow what others intend for you to do and be, you will lose your individual and different nature, ideas, thoughts, and so on, if you conform and be like everyone else is. Do you really want to be just like everyone else?

I first had doubts about my own thinking when one day I realised that New Zealand were huge supporters of the All Blacks, Australia were huge supporters of their team, same for England, Scotland and so on. It occurred to me that I liked the All Blacks because I am a New Zealander, not because I actually chose the All Blacks to like. I realised that I liked rugby because it was our New Zealand national game that the All Blacks played.
What this means is, “You don’t choose to like your national sports team!”

The choice of what team you will choose as your favourite team is made for you when you are born accordingly to what country you are born in.
All your younger years you are pressured in to supporting your national sports team by peer pressure and the pressure to conform and be like everyone else.

If you were born in Australia you would dislike the All Blacks, if you were born in Scotland you would dislike the All Blacks (that you currently as a New Zealander are fanatical about), if you were born in England you would dislike the All Blacks, because in all the countries of the world they don’t choose either, their nationality chooses for them when they are born, and all through their childhoods they are groomed into supporting their own national sports teams. The only thing that determines your desire to support a sports team is the country that you were born in, its not your own personal choice, it is years of grooming.

Please remember that the Sports Industry is a huge multi-billion dollar money making machine, so your support is highly recommended by those in the industry and government who gets the taxes. They advertise a lot, because they get your support and cash.

When millions of New Zealanders cheer when the All Blacks get points these people are cheering for a team that society, their country, chose for them to adore and cheer for.

Religion is the same.

If your parents are religious of a certain faith, you probably will be of that faith or not of any faith after going to an atheist school that puts God in the mythical section of teaching. Thus, here we see that other people influence us so much so that we may leave a religious faith or follow what our parents have chosen as a religious faith.

Many Atheists claim that we should allow our children to choose their own faith once they become teenagers, yet while they say so, they totally accept Atheist-based-schooling – and many today believe that being an Atheist is actually a religion, thus the atheist school teaching is grooming people to become atheist.
See how confusing the modern world is.

Your Life is Your Life, You Choose!

During your lifetime you will find many options that exist, and people like you to join whatever they are in to. The hardest thing to deal with is many years of being subjected to a certain point-of-view and it seeps into our minds constantly and we eventually agree with that point of view, yet we didn’t actually do any real thinking about it, we just accepted it because we were constantly subjected to it.

Please try to understand that “numbers”, the size of a group means power, and if those numbers are contributing money, that means money and power.

People want you in their groups to help finance them, to support them, and to give them more power.

Gangs can seem attractive to those who feel left out, insecure, wanting to be a part of something, and wanting to be liked and admired. Gangs want you in the gang so that they have more power. Thinking for yourself is understanding what a gang is, what they do, and the constant conflicts against the law.
If you want to be able to travel the world, be attractive to people for job opportunities, be liked for your kind, compassionate nature, gangs are not a good choice – thus instead of letting your insecurities drive you into a gang, use some common sense, real time thinking, and consider your future desires and what you want for your future, this thinking carefully about your options makes you see how much damage being a part of a gang (including prison-time) can do to your life/future.

Thinking means Thinking Out Of The box.

Society makes a Box of Thought that we are then expected to see as real life. But there are many cracks in that box where people can peek out and see better or other alternatives, excepting, many people see out of the box and are too lazy or just don’t care, and they remain trapped into the mental thinking that society grooms people in to thinking ‘is the only way’.

History is a wonderful book of the past that shows us what is good and bad for us.

150 years ago there were no chemicals in food, and we survived perfectly fine.
Today in supermarkets some food/meat is soaked in preservatives/chemicals overnight so that they remain “fresh” (or a version of fresh) on the shelves for days longer, so that there is less waste for the supermarket – none of this type of thinking is driven by any concern for the customers health, it is only about profit and less waste.

Another thought is that You Are Nature, thus Nature is You.

Another point is that society as it currently is, is heavily based on buying and selling, this creates a love of money because with this mentality the more money the more that you can have – and that type of thinking is what is called Materialistic Thinking, the more you have the fun you will have and the more important you are (But only to other Materialistic Thinking people).

The idea here is that I show you some variations of thinking but not what you should think. Many claim that today society is telling us what to think, how to think and what to believe in and agree with.

Objective Thinking is a reasoning, thoughts that are not biased, impartial, and are based on verifiable facts rather than personal feelings, opinions, or biases.
In order to be thinking objectively, we must separate our emotions from the facts, consider all angles that are available to use and have the vision to consider any new angles not considered by others yet, construct logical arguments, and acknowledge the fallibility of one’s own judgments. This thinking style allows for balanced and accurate conclusions, enables effective problem-solving.

Consider that your family is heavily embedded into your culture, or you were brought up in a gang home, religious, or a heavily political environment, these things can affect a persons thinking so much that he or she will make the wrong choices for their own future based on what the environment around them is demanding of them. They can also heavily affect your beliefs and present to you a version of the truth that is not real, but seems real according to other people whoa re important to you and your personal life.
