God spoke to the nations through prophets.
The people would fall into sin, lose their way and need God to get them out again. This is why prophets were needed.
Evil doesn’t want people to listen to the prophets, so evil set people up against the prophets in the hope that the prophet would fail. In evil times when gossip and revenge are popular people eagerly made life hard for God’s people.
Often the prophets were poor, simple (by societies standards) and obviously good people.
Obviously the prophets were targets. Evil wanted them stopped, and so any ear that was jealous of the prophet, or people who feared the Righteous nature of the prophet, evil would eagerly fill with hatred and ways to destroy the prophets work.
Hebrews Chapter 10, verse 7: Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
God doesn’t reveal everything at once to us, it is progressive. Your learning is progressive. We must learn the milk easy digestible truths first, then as we progress more and more, God feeds us the truths that are harder to understand or believe to the general public.
Learning takes years for all of us.
At any time in history when the masses accept evil immoral ways they will heavily judge those who are different. At times of moral weaknesses and little respect for one another people can be cruel.
As believer’s we have to toughen up and be understanding of the weak-minded because we were once doubtful unbelievers once ourselves.
Most unbelievers won’t support the strict, decent lifestyle of the believer,and often they may be loud about it too. It is by our good standards that we can shine in the darkness and become an important inspiration for those needing help.
Respect your enemy Satan. People who laugh at us are being very foolish and they will suffer for it.
Submit to God first, then resist Satan.
The truth hidden, is now declared by the saints. This means that over a long period of time God declares the truth of life and His will to those He trusts, and then those who receive the truth then carefully past it on to people who have willing ears.
God’s teaching is progressive. What Jesus taught was this truth.
Romans Chapter 16, verses 25-27:
Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
People don’t see Christ. He could be amongst the people but they wouldn’t know what Christ looked like, they wouldn’t know what to look for, and many (in a world turned to sin) would not believe the teachings of Christ, this includes many religious. They are believing endless genealogies and fairy tails.
People will deny God and Christ at the time of Christ’s coming, they will deny the truth of God and God’s true will, and they will deny the words of Christ, and they will deny Christ. Even the religious have very little faith.
People think if they don’t believe in something that it won’t happen. That is the way of the lost. They fail themselves because they refuse to believe.
