God will put people in front of you for many reasons. One may be that this person could help you. Often I find myself in situations where I can help people.
Years ago I said to God that I wanted to follow the commandment to love one another as best as I could.
As time went by I would run into people who I had issues with in the past, in some cases people who had really hurt me or in some way I had upset them and also those who had listened to gossip and had judged me wrongly.
I found that they would appear in front of me over and over again until I was friendly with them. I had to let go of old hurts and make an honest attempt to make friends. God knows our hearts, He knows of we mean it.
It is like God is simply saying, “Here he is, now is your chance to make friends and forgive. ” etc.
So if you are always seeing old enemies, people you may have hurt, or people who have hurt you every now and then it will be God giving you the opportunity to “turn your enemies to friends”
It’s not easy sometimes but we must do our best to follow God and keep our promises.
Sometimes I try and they won’t let me make friends with them. Over and over again we should try. It is the way of God and the example Jesus gave us.
Part of taking up our cross and following Jesus is getting out of our comfort zone and turning bad situations to good.
