Good mental health means being able to look at one’s self and what one has done, see the advantages and mistakes, know that they did not mean harm (even if the results included someone being hurt physically or mentally), and then being as they were before the event but with more knowledge and being now more wiser, more capable, able to apologise, forgive, and walk onwards continuing their walk in life.
*
Life is like walking along a path, something good or bad happens that takes us off the path for a short while, then once it is sorted out we get back on that path where we left off.
The problem today is that people are not well prepared for the bad things that happen, or even the good things like fame (being well known), and they come off the path and stay there. Mental illness is when they stay off the path, narcissism, arrogance, etc, is also staying off the path, the same thing for pride and self adoration and playing the victim.
*
When people are off the path they can stay there their entire lives, always struggling, depressed, or narcissistic and narrow minded, and some never stop playing the victim. Sometimes their misery becomes their claim to fame, their reason for living, their escape from facing the truth, reality and guilt.
°
When children are brought up in stable homes they are mature at a young age, strong willed, confident, face the facts, apologise, forgives, and stands up for all that is good and RIGHT, even at their own risk.
°
Maturity is what is missing from adults in high places, that is why they make immature, not well thought out plans, laws, and rules. Basically they don’t know what they are doing because they don’t know how to be mature and do what is needed for the good of all.
°
The only way we can ensure that our young grow with confidence, compassion, courage, and with maturity is to put them first and not ourselves, the job, money, self entertainment etc.
