When a person has good moral standards and is a true righteous person he or she would never stoop to doing deceitful things to beat the competition.
But those who lack a sense of fairness, and are not honest, and have few true decent standards, will stoop very low to destroy the competitions reputation.
The difference is in the beliefs of the people.
The good person will honestly compete, but the dishonest person knows that he or she is not up to the good standards and abilities of the good person, so the dishonest people resort to dirty tactics because they know that they are no match for the honesty and righteousness of the good person.

The good person has nothing to hide, bad people have to always cover their backs, make excuses and lie.
