It is local elections soon, and the people of the South Waikato will choose a new mayor, and this event reminded me of a post I made on Facebook about 5 years ago, called If I Were Mayor and I listed some things that I would change if I were mayor, and the post was well received.
The first issue is that if you become mayor or a voted member of the council, already before you start you are told that you “Must play the game” already set for you, and you must abide by the rules of the monarchy, oops, I meant Government. Thus isf you have any new wonderful visionary or inventive ideas, they are killed before you even walk into the door. This greatly limits any chance that you had for any real wonderful change.
Churches must abide by Government rules and run as the government says in order to get support and avoid certain things to remain a charitable organization. Methinks the same sort of bribery is what allows the Governments to control the mayors. “If you want this, then you must do this”.
One thing I listed got put through and that was the new rubbish bins. I was told that the mayor of that time was against the idea but the idea was put through due to the others counselors supporting it.
I also remembered another post I made that was not well received in the Tokoroa region.
Tokoroa is very Materialistic in many ways like the rest of the world, the people desiring pleasures and money, and the most popular new businesses for many years in Tokoroa have been places to drink alcohol and food places where the public can eat. This is probably why the ideas I had were seen as weird when I posted them on The Genuine Tokoroa Page on Facebook.
I used simple common sense and thought to myself what do people desire the most in thought (not action) and what is best for the public, and the answer is that people all want:
Low Crime.
Good Health.
Good healthy Food.
Good Mental Health.
Good Clean Healthy Water.
A better world for the future.
And so on…
So I suggested to the people that we turn the entire South Waikato
or at least Tokoroa into a Garden of Eden.
My argument was that the rest of the world was Materialistic.
The goals of the people was the love of money, the love of being entertained, the love of self satisfaction, and to get all the things that the body, mind and ego desire, they accepted food with chemicals in it, water with chemicals in it, immoral activities, indecency, and basically everything that brings forth hate, diseases, suffering, dependencies on chemicals, drugs, mental health industry, pharmaceutical companies and so on, all the stuff that brings us to an early grave and an unhealthy planet for the generations to come.
Materialistic society brings forth mental illness, addictions, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, acceptance of being entertained with sports, TV, movies, and other times wasters. If the people can’t think, then they don’t care what they eat, drink, do, and what the rest of the world is doing, thus they simply watch TV and pretend that this is natural normal human life.
My suggestion of a Garden of Eden was change that would make this area mostly independent, with clean water, clean foods, moral, decent lifestyle (without religious claims or dogma), and the results would mean low crime, and a good clean decent society for our children to grow up in regardless of what the rest of the world is doing.
Because of the huge push for healthy foods, good clean living, chemical free lifestyles, people from all around the world would flock to a place that was effectively a Garden of Eden. Currently on Earth there is probably no such place that exists anymore, or if there is any it is slowly being depleted by crime, greed, selfishness and materialism.
What I was suggesting was a society that cares. Is compassionate.
People that care about the next generation, cares about the environment, cares about each other, and looks after all its young wanting the very best for the children of the future while also seeking to give the children minds that are stable, capable, well informed, well adjusted, and courageous.
Men would be men, women would be women, marriage would be a genuine partnership for life, love the reason, togetherness the cause. If a society lives with empathy for people, animals, and the environment/planet, then they live in a Garden of Eden because all the people live with compassion for all, Empathy, and care.
An honest look at modern society shows clearly that we are on a path to self destruction for the sake of a selfish carnal greedy short unhealthy life. The only way that the human race can change all of this is to change its ways, and my thoughts were that if one place was A Garden of Eden, healthy and natural, existed then people from all around the world would see the value of returning to the past in lifestyle and the planet would once again become realigned with love and veer away from the human races path of personal self destruction.
I personally don’t think that I will ever see this happen as I describe it, because I don’t know another person who would like this to be so in this way with the goal of making the world a better place, but possibly in the future a group of people will come together with like minds and empathy and seek a new world, new life, clean living, clean minds, and a new way.
And no I am not running for mayor, and yes I did put forward suggestions on Facebook, but few people if any commented positively on my posts for the area becoming a Garden of Eden.
Business would still thrive, grow, mature, but the goals would be different. Instead of the desire for money, the goal would be good health, clean living for ourselves, safe places to grow up for our children.
The reason for the saying that, “It must get worse before it can get better” is that people will put up with much suffering before they finally decide that enough is enough and that other people being wealthy, getting good health care, good food, living far better than the common folk must stop, like the French Revolution and others in history, the people finally get it and make the necessary changes to bring forth change and give the land and rights back to the people.
I cannot imagine any modern Mayor making the changes that I have mentioned here, because of the desire to get votes they must please the people, please local business, and so forth.
And even if there was one Mayor who wanted such changes, the voted in counselors or those already deep in council wouldn’t back it up or support such changes.
Materialism creates weak minded people. People who fear change, and they fear adjusting to a new life. They would prefer to ride life out until they have no life left, the real sad part is that they don’t teach their young to have courage, faith in life, faith in themselves, a better healthy future, they just teach their young to conform, obey, and do as others do. This is why we often just have to wait for change.
We need to realise that the world for us and those in the future cannot get better until we become better people ourselves.
