Letting go of people is not the same as giving up. It isn’t giving up on people who refuse to change. That is their lot and their choice. They have chosen for now, not to break free of the chains that bind them.
Be yourself and let them free, and while doing that you free yourself from them and the limits that they put on your freedom.
Your example in your new life will be enough to show those who once held you down what they can have in their life.
Jesus found that many will be divided, including families and churches, and only some will listen and learn.
Everyone has the right to choose. Everyone has free will.
Respect them for their choices and move on.
You will never regret breaking free.
