I have always, with great wonder and horror, asked myself how could Hitler convince millions of people, to follow him and then go to war with unprepared innocent people and willfully bomb women, children, old people and good hard working men. It has always been a wonder to me and a fear that someone else one day could appear who could do the same.
I read the other day that we are all darkness and light, and because of that we can become either.
We could become a person like Mother Teresa, or Adolph Hitler, and in either case we would so no evil in what we were.
Another thing that I have wondered about over the last 5 years or so is that the German people did many evil and cruel thing in the Concentration Camps and they just got it into their heads that killing and slaughtering innocent Jews was normal life, and to many they felt that it was necessary.
At the end of World War 1 there was a shocked German nation that needed a leader to take them by he hand and lead them to victory. The horror (to them) of losing World War 1 was with many Germans for many years. Some would say that the minds of the German people were ripe for the picking by someone who could bring back optimism and so on. One could bring real hope and optimism, or one could bring forth hope with devious secret plans.
Hitler, after World War 1, as a soldier in that war, convinced himself that the war was lost due to Germany being stabbed in the back by politicians and Jews. He blamed the Jewish people (Hitler was brought up as a Catholic and he did well in the faith) for much, but his mind came to the conclusion they were to blame for the failure. As a Catholic Hitler may have started hating the Jews because of the world belief that Jesus was killed by the Jews, as a result since Jesus there has been many who hated the Jews, he may have been capitalizing on his general dislike of the Jews to his advantage and personal beliefs.
Hitler had the ability to reach people through speaking and his skills in that area made a big difference. You see, if the situation were not ripe for a new way for the despondent German people Hitler may have been a nobody, a crank, and passed through time without barely being noticed.
Hitler went to jail and spent time writing and he came up with there and after he left a vision for a great revival for the German people. He was a powerful Orator, but his mind was not of normal thought, especially not the thoughts of the normal politician. His dislike for the Jews and his thought of racism show that he was not all mentally stable, but a desperate people were desperate for change, positive change, and they wanted to eat up, life for and die for that dream, they just needed someone to give them that dream. With the Great Depression, 1 in 3 people out of work, the Nazi party claimed to have the answer.
When materialism fails people have no idea how to get out, so they seek answers in materialism, jobs, money and so on.
I was always amazed that all over the world the Great Depression was a cause for starvation and death in developed countries, and the reason I was amazed was because the food was still there, it was just that the people did not have jobs anymore. The depression showed that people were so dependent on jobs, industry, money and so forth that they felt hopeless, helpless, and unable to cope, so much so that instead of finding another war to look after themselves feed themselves and so on they gave up feeling that all was lost, and for many in the slums of Germany they felt this way.
Hitler’s message to the people was that only he could save Germany.
He was making bold but very encouraging promises to a desperate people. Hitler was a motivator yes, but also a manipulator. He would got to different places in Germany in planes which the other politicians at that time did not do, and when Hitler got there and the eager desperate crowds gathered Hitler would make them wait for an hour or so, and then appear to their relief and joy. When Hitler got up to speak he would stand, for an entire minute, without speaking, making the people wait, and listening to them cheering for him. He was working on the German people to seeing him as their answer to stop the suffering and to envision Hitler as their great non-religious salvation.
His speeches, moves, actions were all deliberate to manipulate the people into seeing him as the great decent man that he was not. He knew what they anted do he gave it to them and capitalized on their gullibility and desperation for a new and improved Germany. He used patriotism to his advantage. The more the people adored Germany, the more they adored their leader, the more that they would give for the leader and country, the more they would eagerly line up and die for Hitler and country, under the lie that war was progress.
Hitler made the people think that they were a big part in the change, that they were a welcomed part in his eyes to the change for the better of Germany. He would start off talking slow then build up
The real creepy thing about Hitler was that when he got into power as part of a coalition government Hitler took steps to over take the situation and create a dictatorship yet he got away with it. Hitler got books from other countries burnt, he created a police State yet people supported these dictatorship moves because Hitler was giving them hope, so they mentally became blind to the wrongs. There were big parades, much colour, speeches, all that is needed to keep the people excited and wanting to follow Hitler. In their eyes he was building himself up as the one who can do what they need. The injury to the German people’s national pride after losing the First World War was healed in their faith in the masses for Hitler and Hitler’s cause.
In planning a war Hitler got rid of the serious unemployment as the people got to work making war machines, battle ships and so on. The people felt useful, had new confidence in the nation, they felt that now they had something or someone to believe in. A few people saw through all of this and saw Hitler as he really was and what he was really up to, but the people felt that they were enemies to progress and the success of the German people.
As a manipulator Hitler used policies that were put in place by the previous government and other politicians and he took the credit for it all so that the people would believe in him and adore him and see these changes as having been done by what they had now assumed was a great man. He was not ashamed to take credit for other people’s work. He taught the young, the youth that they were a strong major important part of the movement of change and the youth believed in Hitler as their parents had.
As a manipulator Hitler was lying but he still gave them hope. People tend to only see what they want to see in someone, even though there are many signs that something is not right, such as Hitler’s very wrong hatred of the Jewish people and black/brown skinned people, such as Hitler’s public refusal to hang the gold medal around the neck of American James Cleveland “Jesse” Owens who was an American track and field athlete who won four gold medals at the 1936 Olympic Games.
This single event was a clear showing and exposing of Hitler’s evil, yet it was pushed aside mentally by the people, in mass, for the belief in the dream that Hitler promised them.
This is dangerous because we put aside warnings and reality for a dream that is not paying off and when it goes bad people can still have much faith in that dream, and when evil is exposed people still prefer the security of the dream.
people have said that they saw Hitler as a god in a sense that when Hitler spoke they would have tears in their eyes watching their hero, and they followed Hitler with deep love, appreciation and dedication, and even well after the Second World War and Germany bombed to the max, and people finding out about what cruelty Hitler did to the Jews these same people who adored Hitler at the beginning of the war, still adored him well after the Second World War and defeat.
Hitler promised peace for the country while planning war. It was a deception, a way of getting support for his cause, a war on Europe and the world. For about 5 years Hitler gave the impression of the peacemaker, then he started to show his real aims. Hitler got rid of those in the armed forces and so on who were of what they call The Old Guard and replaced them with people who thought a Hitler did – a manipulative way to ensure success.
Hitler’s control of the news media as a dictator and of education he was able to persuade the German people to ignore Hitler’s new rules again the Jews. Hitler has always been known for propaganda which he used to great effect on the German people as they witnessed the racist attacks on the Jewish people by the Nazi Party. The teachers and others in support for Hitler told the children that even though they see bad things happening to realize that Hitler wants a great Germany and so what is happening is part of that. In other words they were telling the children to become apathetic and to ignore the atrocities appearing before their own eyes.
The German people, many of them, saw the Jews as a problem and they wanted them out of Germany but they didn’t want them slaughtered as Hitler did. The night of the Broken Glass when the synagogues were attacked by the Nazi’s, Jews homes smashed up and Jews rounded up was a night where the obvious intent of Hitler was becoming known, but still the people consoled themselves in the belief that Hitler was just removing a problem. probably they hoped that it was done decently, but once the Jews were out of sight the German people pretended to themselves that all was good.
Hitler successfully blamed the Jews for much that was wrong with Germany, Europe and he accused the Jews of starting new war (pretending that he was still a great man of peace) thus a vision in the Germans minds of a war started or at least fueled in some way by the Jewish people.
Hitler was a success in convincing people that he was good so much so that as they saw him more and more for who Hitler really was, and it was the German people, not Hitler that convinced themselves that Hitler was still a good person, and even years after the defeat of Hitler these many Germans still, after hearing of the evil he did to even children, saw Hitler as a great man. These people are willfully supporting evil and calling that evil good, and because of their original faith in the evil doer they willfully ignore the obvious bad and abusive behaviour of the bad person and hang on to the original faith in that person, even if it makes them look foolish and it is not doing them any good.
Another frightening thing about human nature is our lack of ability to see what situation we are in and whether we are a good or bad person.
If the child is born in the gang home, the child becomes part of the gang culture and see’s no wrong in that lifestyle, and for most, they never figure out that they are a part of something bad. To us outside of that culture we may feel that the adult-child is weird for accepting that gang lifestyle and stupid for not figuring out that it was harmful for others and to themselves, while we, in our own ways have accepted what our lives are.
Predators have discovered that if they get children at a young age interested in the enjoyment of sex the young will stay with the predators without being held, the grooming is to make the child feel at home, loved, accepted, and enjoying the sex so much so that as an adult they defend the predators that sexually abused them and made them of the same mind – basically prepared to sexually abuse their own and other people’s children.
Do we really have free will?
It surely seems that whatever environment you were brought up in you became, and you firmly defend and protect that lifestyle and those who made you that way, even if they destroyed what a person could have been, took away a person’s hope for a better life, took away the person’s dreams, and made the child just like them.
Do we really have free will or are we just what we have been born into.
I read some books on motivation and they claim that very few people born in the ghetto’s around the world ever see the wrong in that lifestyle and get away, very few. So those who don’t leave become what they were born into without questioning it or wondering if they could have a different better life.
