I find that having animals around can help with loneliness.
A dog or cat may cost money in fee’s and food, but the payback is a loyal friend who is always pleased to see you and happy to be your friend.
When living alone and feeling sad, hugging a cat or dog can really help. The animals always understand that something is going on and that you need someone near, so they attend to be more than pleased to help you feel loved and wanted.
An animal cannot take the place of human beings, but they can make a very positive warm difference to those who live alone. They are also, if dogs, good for walks.
Getting n animal from a shelter or rescue can also help an abused animal. The animal can come with “issues” from being mistreated in the past, but a warm, loving home can really make a difference to the animal and bring about much love and gratefulness.
If you are a single parent an animal helps the children learn about life and they can find the same genuine loving pleasure and companionship that you gain from the animal.
