If You Wonder if You Were Used as a Flying Monkey

Did someone in the past tell you something about someone, offer no proof, and you believed what you were told because you thought that this person was your friend, someone who you trusted?

There is a famous statement that you are known by many people, and each one has a different version of you in their memories. Everyone see’s who you are differently according to how they have ‘experienced you” (Knowing what you are like through direct contact or interaction).

A problem arises when someone tells you gossip or lies about someone and your opinion is formed on the lies or gossip, and the only proof that you have is your loyalty or relationship to the person who gossiped to you, or lied to you.

You see, we can hear a version of events from someone who we trust, are related to or has been a friend, has a title and so on, and even though part of our brain tells us that we are just hearing a story or a version of a story and there is some natural scepticism because we don’t have actual facts, we take the easy way out, and the easy way out is to accept what we have been told as if it is an actual fact, a true, beyond any reasonable doubt.

This is how Flying Monkeys are created in a Character Assassination. People are told a story that seems to fit with the limited facts that the listener knows of, and since the lies and truths seem to fit hand in hand it is fully believed, enough to hurt the person who the story is about.

With Deep Fake, Face Swapping, the ability to fake photos, a persons voice, and to apply persons face on to another body, have it talk in your voice, and look like you, all easy to do on a home computer, we are at a dark time in technical history. A time that makes it harder and harder to be able to tell what is real, truth, or not, because now fake looks far too convincing and looks like truth.

Add to this doppelgangers, of which it is said that we have at least 6 people on the planet while we are alive who looks very close to how we look, and could be used to fake videos and photos about you.

Sometimes people hold a core belief that is very strong. When they are presented with evidence that works against that belief, the new evidence cannot be accepted. It would create a feeling that is extremely uncomfortable, called cognitive dissonance. And because it is so important to protect the core belief, they will rationalize, ignore and even deny anything that doesn’t fit in with the core belief.” – Frantz Fanon.

Cognitive dissonance is the mental discomfort you feel when your actions, values, or beliefs do not match – the brain tries to process contradictory ideas or experiences at the same time, leaving a person with two versions of events, possibly from 2 people who the person knows, but due to loyalty, love, obedience and such to the person telling ‘the stories”, the “old evidence” that was once believed to be the absolute truth is now looking doubtful with new evidence, and the who was tricked to believe lies struggles to accept a truth that is uncomfortable to believe.

An example of this is when a person partakes in a Character Assassination as a Flying Monkey and attacks a person who he or she is completely convinced is a bad person, because this person was told so. Then years later starts to see, read, hear, evidence that proves the opposite to what he or she originally believed about this person.

The uncomfortable truth (now being realized) is that he or she deliberately victimized someone who didn’t deserve it. Being mean, cruel, withholding help to someone who we think is a bad person takes away any guilt of being mean, and makes the cruelty seem righteous, an act of treating a person badly because you know (think) that he or she deserves it.

We all want to believe that we are the good person, and not a bad person. So when convinced to hate to hurt, to shame, to limit another person’s options, we feel justified, worthy and good, for doing so. If we find out that we were wrong the feelings of our guilt can become uncomfortable and we make excuses, and look away, pretending that we had nothing to do with what happened to the innocent person.

Or we may back up a cause with money, time, effort, only to find out years later it was dishonest, and when our views of life changed we realized that we spent years telling people good things about an illegal, or dishonest person or company, its hard to face the truth.

We need to realise is that we are not perfect, and we all, every one of us, has been fooled by someone, politicians, religious people, governments, beliefs, of which we once had a total belief in.

We all have made many mistakes in life, it is normal and a part of learning. If we were fooled, at least admit it to yourself so that you won’t allow that to happen again, and if you were once a Flying Monkey for a manipulative person, know enough now to stay away from that person and not let anyone else fool you like that in the future.
