Mary was repentant, fully admitted her past and her guilt, and she noted the influence of Christ in her life.

Remember how Jesus was sitting down and Mary came in and washed Jesus’ feet with her tears and hair. She was so genuinely thankful for what Jesus went through for her, how he helped her and forgave her.
*
Jesus said, “Your sins are forgiven!”
*
Note her sins were not forgiven before then. She had to go to Christ in humble admiration, thankfulness and tears.

One can only be forgiven when one becomes fully repentant.

I know a few people who cried like babies, said the “save you” prayer were humble for a while, and later on carried on with the same toxic behavior from the past. They only accepted “some” of their own guilt, and some is not enough. They only regretted “some” of their past toxic behavior.

“Some” is not enough – All things become new, not “some” things.
