The journey of a day...

The journey of a day…

What we do in a day may be life’s last impression,

We must use every minute with wisdom and discretion
Often are days seem useless, pointless,

We don’t think they matter but they do,

Everything that happens has a reason,
The truth will be revealed in due season,
But for now there is a quest, a journey that we must make,

A road, a path, which we must take,

Our course is never easy; the stakes may be high,
But surely God knows this as do I
I cannot let my life fade like the leaves;

It has to mean something, for without it, what hope can I retrieve?

Life is a dance which I intend to Master,
A game which we must play, through trouble and disaster,
We never know what we will get; our hand of cards is not always well dealt,

But it is here where the true test lies, when suffering is felt,

Here is where the petals of compassion are wrought,
And a lesson of hearts and minds is taught
We don’t think of things as we once thought,

For in each hurting heart, there is an anguish that the spears the soul with darts,

Do we not see beyond our own eyes, to a world that needs us now more then ever, that walks on a street of hopeless, blind endeavor?
Many a face is covered by the shadows of false friends, of petty whims, predisposed cultural stems, always expected to act like the world is as beautiful and clear as diatoms.
But since, as we will all honestly say, the world is not a piece of cake, (unless you’re a horrible cook)

In our hands we hold no formula, calculation or recipe book,

Only in God, maker of maps, shall we know our purpose and what we lack,
Only in this shall we be satisfied, through both the good and grim,
Only in this shall we survive, through out the thick and thin,

Suffering may never cease, but beyond the circumstances, we must think of inward peace,

If we struggle let it be, with hope for things we wish to see,

So in every day let’s find our quest, knowing the world for its reality, but also it’s joy and zest.
