Singer Heavy Duty 4423

I decided to buy a Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine to create more heavy projects.

An Industrial Sewing Machine is often only a Straight Stitch, heavy, big motor, and has its own table. I want one of these and hope to get one in the future.

A Heavy Duty sewing machine is not an Industrial Sewing Machine, nor can a Heavy Duty sewing machine cope with what an Industrial sewing Machine can cope with.

On the Internet there seems to be a group of “dislikers” of Heavy Duty Sewing machines, and some especially post videos and posts focusing on the negatives of the Singer Heavy Duty series of machines.

There are also many people on YouTube and the like who use a Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine for their many projects and have nothing bad to say about them.

Complaints seem to be about using thick amounts of material and then claiming that the Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine gets stuck and jams up, but remember it is heavy duty and that means it has a stronger motor than the usual sewing machines which are probably 30 watts and the Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine is about 90 watts, while an Industrial sewing machine may be 400 watts.

One sewing machine mechanic said to try not to get a China made Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine due to the parts being cheaper and not oiled well, but to my joy I discovered that I had the Vietnamese version which is what he recommended we get.

None of the sewing machine mechanics said not to get a Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine , and they all seem to like the sewing machine.

I think that the wise thing to do is to be mature about the qualities and limits of the Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine and just getting on with the work

Many men use a Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine and women as well. Men tend to use the Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine for projects like Mollie gear, bags, and I found a woman who make entire backpacks with it.

One side of the Tote Bag made of Cotten Canvas.
The other side of the bag with Pooh and Piglet.

I have been using mine with cotton canvas fabric, and it sews through his easily and is very efficient. I made a Tote Bag, as you can see above, and then used vinyl to put images on it of Pooh, Piglet and Snoopy on the other side.

So far the machine has dealt with everything that I have done with it with ease. I do like using this sewing machine. In some reviews women have claimed that it is noisy, but the males haven’t so I suppose it may be because men are used to machinery noise, and the other sewing machines that the woman have used may be considered quiet.

There are many instructional videos about the Singer Heavy Duty 4423 sewing machine like the video below.
