Every now and then someone comes along and confuses the experts. This person causes some upset amongst the experts because they tell the world how to achieve a better life and that they will come to love life, and themselves, in ways that the experts have never thought of.
When one studies from books and in a schooling environment one does not get experience that is genuine yet. They may get many case studies etc to ponder over.
I remember in the James Herriot books how he was struggling in the beginning of his career because of what he was dealing with on the farms as a veterinary surgeon was not what the books told him would happen, and they sure didn’t work or were different from what he had been taught etc. Many other books I have read about people who were educated in a university have said the same about the difference between the classroom and real life cases.
Now the world gets set in its beliefs and continues to teach what they do and we pile out therapists who are experts in their field.
Psychology – Field Of Study
Psychology is an academic and applied discipline that involves the scientific study of mental functions and behaviors. – Wikipedia.
Then along comes someone (often religious) and they change the whole system, or a lot of it. Often this person has very little education or a simple education and writes a book or two that has the therapists rushing to the book shops to read. The reason they want to read it is because the new motivator has rocked the boat and come up with new theories and systems that the academic system failed to see, or has failed to adapt to as time has gone by.
Human beings in every field seem to get “set” in their ways and that kills growth. But the problems and issues of the people change on a regular basis and that is why the world needs these new motivators that come out of nowhere.
People like Dale Carnegie (Born into poverty he went on to teach people how to speak in public and then he wrote many famous books which sold by the millions), Napoleon Hill (I think Hill was a reporter), Norman Vincent Peale (a Pastor who worked with a psychoanalyst) and others. They always have something new to add, something different and something that the main stream teachers have not clicked to yet.
These people are often completely untrained in the field that they major at in life training. What I mean is that they are experts in the field of mind training and a better life and yet they have had no official training in those fields at all.
Experience is often their teacher and to their surprise they find out that they have that something that can help society and also they sell lots of books in the millions – in other words they break new ground that the education system has overlooked or cannot see due to their beliefs.
Be open minded about life, teachers, the educational systems etc. Be open minded about life, learning and what you want to learn. And always be on the lookout for the next new “teacher” who will change your life for the better.
All the best from
