To get to know God think of all the good decent things in life like a good family, a simple but enjoyable fun loving life. God leads us away from places that he wouldn’t approve of for us. If it is good in the sense of decent, kind, gentle and loving then it is of God. Good language, good feelings, forgiveness, lending a hand. Kindness to all. God wants you to be free from mental and emotional slavery and addictions, the pain and shame of the past etc
God’s ways are good. We cannot grow in love when we are choked within by weeds of misery and sadness. Self-Improvement is improving ones own “self” and that is not done by trying to dress nice, put on makeup, have a fast car, or look cool and confident. Self-Improvement is learning to cast away the weight of yesterday so that you have the courage to face whatever happens today and in the future. Real self-improvement is having a genuine love for all living creatures and being strong in heart.
Getting closer to God is being closer to what Jesus taught is what we all should be doing on a daily basis to become confident. Being a little Christ means being a nice person who loves mercy, wants to see justice, loves people, is understanding and is willing to go the long road to help a friend.
