What happens if you confront a narcissist’s lies?
- Leveling- They will bring up something you did years ago that was bad and tell you that you are just as bad as they are.
- Blameshifting- They will tell you that you are to blame for their lies.
- Gaslighting- They will tell you that you are losing your memory. That what happened is not reality.
- They will start a fight- These usually can go on for hours if you get involved with one. Do not take the bait! They want to argue with you. Drama gives them peace.
- They will leave- Sometimes they go for a couple of hours and sleep with a prostitute. Some also leave for days.
- If they are a higher spectrum narcissist some will get off on you questioning their lies. They love this! They get off on every second of it. As long as you are reacting to them they are in heaven..
- Word salad- They will be nice one minute and the next warp your words or perceptions around of what you thought you just said. Confused yet?
- They will start a smear campaign and tell people that you are doing to them what you were trying to confront them about.
- They will start taking things away from you and blame you for it (Affection, Intimacy, Money)
- They will trigger you over and over again to wear you down to nothing more then someone who is walking on eggshells and in constant fight or flight mode.
