Actor John Wayne


John Wayne directed and produced the movie The Alamo, he also played Davy Crockett in the movie.
 
This was the movie John Wayne always wanted to make.
 
When The Alamo was made it was the most expensive picture ever made. At the Alamo 189 men stood up to a force of 4,000. In 13 days Santa Anna lost 1300 men. John Wayne thought this was a story that should be told.
 
April 14th, 1970, is a day John Wayne fans will remember. It was the day John Wayne won his only oscar, it was for the Movie True Grit. John Wayne acted as Rueben J. "ROOSTER" Cogburn an old drunken US Marshal.
Glen Cambell is also in this movie as a Texas Ranger. Robert Duvall plays the leader of an outlaw gang.
