If a person’s childhood is interrupted by abuse, or bad parenting, trauma etc, then he or she can lose (not gain) valuable life-skills.
They can become overconfident, and arrogant (to cover up for their own weaknesses that the person knows that they have) etc.
But when something happens that has this person doubting his or her past beliefs, and their lifestyle, their life crashes before them because they don’t have the ability to deal with what has happened.
This makes them depressed, lost, confused and scared. The arrogance and pride gave this person a false belief in his or her abilities. They become agoraphobic because they now are facing things they hid from in the past, or they don’t have the skills that he or she should have to deal with life, stressful situations. Even simple things can bring them down.
They may fear conflict with a narcissistic person who has had lot of control over this persons life in the past. But they also know deep down inside that this person must be faced, and this narcissistic person’s hold over the victims life destroyed in order to be spiritually happy. .
The answer to the agoraphobic person’s problems can be clear to them, but their avoidance lifestyle can have them afraid of the possible confrontation, possibly having to apologise, or just the facing of his or her fears.
So instead of solving the problem by facing their fears, they will avoid doing anything. And the situation will either continue or they will go back to their old lifestyle, gain back the old arrogance, and be as they used to be.
All the best from James Martin Sandbrook.
