"I waited for a while and then headed back to the fireman that I had talked to earlier and asked if he thought that they could contain the fire, he said no. He said they were bringing more fire engines to the scene of the crash. It didn't look good for Enie and his people.

On my way back I saw Enie by the rock again, I went over and sat down next to the rock again. "What did they say Enie?"

"We have to leave immediately, the fire is coming our way. Can you help us? There are too many humans around for us to get away safety. Please"

"Yes sure. Can your people fit in the back of my old utility truck"

"Yes, it looks like we could all fit in there", said Enie looking at the ute.

"Then get them now and hurry", I said as I got up and walked hurriedly over to my truck.

I got in and drove it to the rock and then got out and opened the back so that the Weenie Beenies could get inside. I then looked around and found a long thick branch and got out my small axe and split the branch down the center  and then I leaned the two pieces up against the back of the Ute and made sure that the flat, cut side was facing upwards so that the Weenie Beenies were able to easily climb up.

At that very moment in the small town of Putaruru, which was about a quarter hour drive from Tokoroa a small girl had gone for a walk, she was 8 years old and she had decided to climb up a tree to rescue a cat that was sitting on a branch and obviously not happy.

While trying to get further out on the branch to reach the cat she slipped and fell, breaking her right leg and bruising herself. When she was found by the local Weenie Beenies she was out cold, unconscious.

They new that she needed help and she was having trouble breathing. They set to work immediately.

The girl, Jenny Smith woke up and tried to sit up. She felt pain and looked around her. She saw hundreds of little beanie type insects crawling all over her. What she did not notice was a Weenie Beenie at her side with a bag, the top was ripped off the bag and a strange sweet aroma was raising into the air up towards the girls nose.

Jenny Smith tried to move her bottom but it was stuck to the ground this confused her. She looked at her leg and said "Hey, what's going on" but even as she spoke she found that she was drifting off to sleep.

When Jenny had seen her broken leg she noticed many small sparkly rocks and crystals on her leg. Jenny realized that she was falling into a deep sleep and she quickly lowered herself back to the ground to avoid hurting herself some more.

Back at the helicopter crash the Weenie Beenies were rushing around in their little homes and collecting their valuables. When I got back to my ute I saw that many Weenie Beenies were running up the split sticks that I had left there. I went back to help contain the fire.

After another ten minutes the fire had spread dangerously and we were told that we had to leave the area.

I ran back to the Ford and looked into the back, all I could see everywhere were beans covering the entire back of the Ford, there must have been thousands of them. Some were small and some were big. In one corner of the deck was a heap of leaves, pods and bits of what humans would call rubbish like bottle top lids and such things.

In another corner were many small stones that sparkled in the daylight, even with the cloud of smoke above us they looked very impressive. I picked up the two sticks and threw them away and then closed the tailgate of the Ford.

I got into the Ford and was putting the key into the ignition when I heard a voice, it was Enie Bean. "We are ready to go", I looked at him and saw that he was sitting in the passenger chair with Arnie Bean his brother. I smiled at them and started the old Ford.

As I was driving away I noticed Arnie and Enie struggling to stay in position on the car seat. "Is everyone in the back?" I asked.

"Yes" they both replied together obviously relieved.

"I will try to drive carefully so that they don't get hurt, Where are we going?" I asked pleased to be part of this rescue mission.

"We don't know, this has happened so sudden." said Arnie looking a bit dazed from all the excitement of the last hour.

"How about your place for now" Enie Bean suggested.

"Oh I don't know about that." I said, "Heck I have trouble keeping the ants out let alone thousands of Weenie Beanies." I smiled at my own wittiness.

Arnie said with a cheeky smile on his face "If we are desperate for food we eat ants, are there many." I realized he was trying to be funny.

I drove carefully along the old road that headed to town when I noticed in my rear view mirror a police car following us. "Darn it guys a police car is behind us. If he pulls me up I may have some explaining to do" and just as I spoke I saw the lights on the top of the police car flashing along with the sound of the police cars siren. Things were not looking so good.

Jenny Smith was waking up again and she stretched and yawned, opened her eyes and gasped when she remembered what happened. She sat up and looked around her.

It was then that she noticed that she felt no pain, nothing at all. She wiggled her bottom and it wasn't stuck anymore. She looked at her leg and saw that the bugs had disappeared and the rocks were gone. She then reached down and touched the leg that she had broken, it felt fine.

She couldn't understand it.

Jenny tried to stand up and she found that she could and still felt no pain.

She was confused. She looked at her arms and the bruises had gone.

She wondered how long she had laid there.

Jenny looked up at the tree and she saw that the cat was gone, "That's the last time I try to save a silly cat", she said to herself.

The Putaruru Weenie Beenies were hiding in the thicket and watched Jenny slowly get up and then walk away.

Another great rescue for the Putaruru Weenie Beenies. They all shook each other hands and congratulated each other.

I pulled over to the side of the road and quickly got out of my car to walk over to the police car, but the police officer was already out of his car "Get back into your vehicle young man", he said in an authoritative voice. "Darn it", I thought now I'm in trouble, how do I explain all those beans in the back of my Ute?
